SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: The judges had their job cut out for them on March 31's 'American Idol,' which began off Hollywood Week with the debut of the "Idol Arena" and finished with the franchise's largest round of cuts in 22 seasons. This also resulted in terrible editing and shortened performances, prompting Quintavious Johnson's supporters to specifically criticize ABC for compromising his performance.

The Idol Arena, often known as the "gladiator's pit" by Lionel Richie, was simply an enormous stage on which each artist would perform at random, surrounded by their competitors. This season, 143 singers made it to Hollywood, but only 56 remained at the end of the two-hour episode.

For the mathematically challenged, this meant that 87 contestants would have to be eliminated. Even though Quintavious had his performance cut out from the actual broadcast, the Idol page on Instagram later uploaded a snippet for his fans.

Upset fans took to the comment section to slam the network, asking, "Why couldn’t we see all of it?" Another user chimed in, "Wish we had seen Quintavious’s while performance, love his voice."

Others demanded, "Needed the whole of that….was absolute."

Some fans couldn't help but rave about his performance too, as they wrote, "Blew me away." Another person added, "you did a phenomenal job sweet friend in Christ!!!! Love your passion and tones!!! A powerhouse and God is on the move in and through you!!"

One user was already eager to announce, "And your next American Idol is...."

The 21-year-old from Franklin, Tennessee, was no stranger to singing competitions, having previously appeared on 'America's Got Talent'. This worship leader and vocal coach performed 'Help Me' by Cortt Chavis.

He made many weep in the crowd. Luke Bryan believed the emotional performance was far better than his audition. Verdict: Safe.

Who got eliminated in 'American Idol' Season 22 Hollywood Week?

Following the performances, 143 hopefuls waited as the judges made some difficult decisions. Noah Peters, Conall Gorman, Kyra Waits, Abby Blake, Bethany Teague, Meggie Iyer, Madai Chakell, Kimi, CJ Rislove, and Jacy Matthews were among the 80 contestants eliminated in the greatest cut in "Idol" history.1

The bulk of those names were not mentioned at all tonight, so it's not unexpected. Out of the 143 competitors that were taken to Hollywood, just 56 remain.

On April 1 night, this group will be reduced to just 24 in the famous Showstoppers Round.

Who is 'American Idol' Season 22 singer Quintavious Johnson?

Quintavious was born on November 28, 2001, and his musical career began at an early age. His mother, Yolanda, noticed his intrinsic gift when he was just 11 months old when he beautifully repeated a melody she sang while shopping.

Quintavious began his musical adventure at the age of three, when he joined the Lime Stone Baptist Choir, encouraged by his mother. Inspired by legendary performers such as Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, and Mariah Carey, Quintavious polished his talent with vocal lessons and appearances on numerous occasions, including singing the National Anthem at sporting events.

Despite his young age, he has already accomplished great feats, such as reaching the Top 5 on Season 9 of 'AGT' and playing at prestigious venues such as the Grand Ole Opry and Madison Square Garden.
