LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 21 Showstopper round kicked off with a rocking performance. The aspiring singers who advanced to Showstoppers delivered a soulful performance to save themselves from elimination and grab a spot in the 'Top 24' in the ABC network show.

Warren Peay was the first performer who took the stage during the Showstoppers. Warren instantly impresses judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan to move on to 'America's vote'. However, 'American Idol' Season 21 viewers think Warren's performance wasn't up to the mark and he should return home.

Warren Peay bags a spot in 'Top 24'

Warren performed 'Whipping Post' by Allman Brothers. The aspiring singer opted to perform the Southern rock classic without his guitar. However, Warren has always accompanied himself with a musical instrument, especially a guitar. But Warren went instrument free on the Showstoppers stage to focus the stage more. Warren delivered a classic and rocking performance. Luke praised Warren and said, "You have cleared yet another hurdle." Warren, whom judges predicted would make the Top 10, advanced to the next round.

'Nothing special'

Warren might have impressed 'American Idol' 2023 judges, but he failed to win the hearts of viewers. The viewers took to their social media and slammed him for his performance. A social media user tweeted, "Easy to make top 24 if you do country.. hate they make show so country focus every year.. boo warren." Another user commented, "Warren nothing special." Yet another fan added, "We might as well skip this we know warren going through." One Twitter user noted, "Country is music too...quit your whining." Meanwhile, some Instagram users took to the comment section of Warren's audition video and simply dropped thumbs-down emoticons. 



 



 



 



 

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sundays and Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
