'American Idol' Season 22 judge Katy Perry torches Luke Bryan in Roman Collins judging feud
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan had a playful moment during the latest episode of the ABC show. Roman Collins performed a soulful rendition of Katy's song 'Roar' and the ABC show judge was left highly impressed.
During the Billboard #1 Hit session, Roman took the risk to perform Katy's song and blew away the judges. He was accompanied by a piano. The judges honored the aspiring singer with a standing ovation and a warm hug from Katy. Lionel Richie complimented, "It was so full of church, it was so full of soul, your roaring was amazing tonight!"
Katy revealed that her parents love Roman and they have been praying for the aspiring singer's successful career. She added, "I hope you don't mind if I try that version out on the next tour." However, Luke chimed in and quipped, "Good luck!" Luke's jab at Katy sparked a playful feud between the co-judges. Katy tried to hit Luke but he leaned away to save himself from the pop star's strike.
Katy Perry left in 'disbelief' amid Top 10 announcement
'American Idol' Season 22's Top 10 contestants was recently revealed. Among the contestants was Abi Carter and Katy Perry appeared to be not happy with the announcement. During the episode, Abi took the risk to perform Taylor Swift's song, 'All Too Well', ignoring guest mentor, Meghan Trailor's warning.
The aspiring singer received criticism from the ABC show judges, Luke Bryan and Katy. Luke noted, "Last night was one of your most shining moments. But I don’t think that performance got there all the way." Katy said, "I don't think you need to work the stage and give us energy." However, when ABC show host, Ryan Seacrest, announced that Abi's name to be in the Top 10, Katy made a weird face.
However, the ABC show viewers trolled Katy over her reaction and noted, "Katy’s face said it all." Another person added, "Katy is in disbelief." Another critic tweeted, "LMFAO WOAH DID ANYONE SEE KATY PERRYS REACTION WHEN ABBY WAS SAFE ??!!!!"

Did Roman Collins make it to the Top 10 in 'American Idol' Season 22?
'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Roman Collins failed to advance to the Top 10. He was eliminated during a recent round which sparked outrage all around the internet. The judges and the viewers loved Roman's performance of Katy's song still failed to earn votes.
During the rehearsals, guest mentor Meghan Trainor praised Roman's "smart and brave" song choice. He revealed that he chose the pop song because of the message. In the confessional, Roman explained, "The words are vital. I'm slowing it down and I'm playing it myself."
Roman also shared with Meghan, "This song is so important to me. [We're] not paying attention to the drums or the rhythm, just the words cause they're enough."
