'American Idol' Season 22 fans see Lionel Richie asking America to vote for Roman Collins sign of 'danger'
HONOLULU, HAWAII: The 'American Idol' Season 22 judges advised Roman Collins to tone down his performances, but our guest mentor Jelly Roll disagrees. Fans are concerned that his future on the ABC show must be in jeopardy after judge Lionel Richie was seen begging America to vote for the 24-year-old.
"Respectfully, and I love Luke, I love Katy, and Lionel's a legend," Jelly Roll began. "We have to do it the way we want to do it."

Roman sang James Taylor's 'How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)' with vigor. He infused so much gospel flavor into this that it's difficult not to be impressed with those runs.
He pushed himself into each performance, reminding judges of Fantasia when she was on stage. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, since some fans do not appear to enjoy it.
"We found another religion," Lionel stated. "You have God flowing through you," he explained. He encourages everyone to vote because "that brother was on fire."
This however made some fans on Reddit believe, "I think Lionel saying “everybody vote” to Roman was his way of saying he thinks Roman could be in danger after that performance." Another person chimed in, "Might be a UO but I couldn’t get into that. Roman overcooked it."
One user sighed, "I lowkey keep forgetting about Roman."
On X, one person wrote, "Roman did good, wish he picked a BETTER song." Another user added, "Roman bored me."
