'American Idol' Season 22 fans disappointed as Abi Carter performs her 'sleepy arragements' on piano every week
HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Abi Carter closed up the performances on 'American Idol' on April 21 with Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.' The contestant was commended by the judges, but viewers at home were dissatisfied with her monotonous performance each week.
Abi sat at the piano for an intimate rendition of this classic. Luke Bryan stated Abi was "far beyond your age" and controlled the entire room like a veteran.

Lionel Richie commended everyone in "this class" again. Katy Perry stated, "From day one, it’s always been you. Tonight, it’s always been you. You sing with such an angelic frequency."
On X, fans however commented, "I watched #AmericanIdol tonight and couldn’t process the irony of the fact that Abi couldn’t listen to Kiss or “rock and roll” because she grew up in a religious family, but sang an Elton John song. I’m so confused." Another user complained, "Ugh I wanted Abi to leave her comfort zone a little bit and do something different… she does the same type of songs every week."

One fan noted, "No doubt Abi can sing but I’d like to see something different then the same piano ballads. Performances are starting to look the same." Another person added, "Not a good song choice or performance for Abi She's talented but that was disappointing."
