LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' judge Chance the Rapper is getting a divorce from his wife, Kirsten Corley. They have been married for five years and recently announced their split in a joint statement posted to Chance's Instagram Stories. Although the former couple didn't reveal the exact reason for their separation, they claimed the divorce to be 'amicable'.

Chance and Kirsten have been separated for a while now. However, the former couple wrote, "After a period of separation, the two of us have decided to part ways." They added, "We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together."

The NBC show judge Chance and his wife Kirsten concluded the statement by noting, "We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition." The ex-couple exchanged vows in March 2019 in Newport Beach, California. They had a star-studded ceremony with Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Dave Chappelle and more celebrities in attendance.

Chance The Rapper sparks marital woes rumors in 2023

Chance The Rapper sparked marital woes speculation after 'The Voice' judge's 30th birthday party during Carnival in Jamaica last April. A video of the hitmaker dancing with another woman went viral on social media.

Soon after the video surfaced on the internet, the NBC show judge's now ex-wife, Kirsten Corley, shared a cryptic post on her social media. She posted a Maya Angelou quote to her Instagram about people who struggle to grow up.

How did Chance The Rapper and Kirsten Corley meet?

Chance The Rapper had been in love with Kirsten Corley since childhood when he first met his future wife at his mother's office party in 2003. At the time, Chance was 9 years old. He reflected on his first meeting in a series of tweets.

He revealed, "We were instructed to make way for an exclusive performance by DESTINY's CHILD!!" Chance recalled a lip-synced performance featuring Corley and elaborated, "Now I'm locking eyes with the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life on earth."

However, Chance later revealed that he was nudged by his father at the time to show off his dance movies and explained, "It's 'cause I knew I was gonna marry that girl. And I ain't wanna jump the gun." He added, "So I shook my head with anxiety, moved to the back of the crowd and never even introduced myself."

Chance The Rapper and Kirsten Corley share two daughters, 8-year-old Kensli and four-year-old Marli Grace. The former couple revealed in their latest statement that they would co-parent their kids.

They shared, "God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together." Chance and Kirsten welcomed their first daughter Kensli in September 2015 and soon got engaged. However a few months after their wedding, the ex-couple welcomed their second daughter, Marli Grace, in August 2019.
