LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Under his stage name Rletto, the 27-year-old artist took the stage for his Season 25 Blind Audition on 'The Voice' with plenty of charm, not to mention a pair of pipes that turned Chance the Rapper around barely seconds into the performance. The rapper went so far as to contradict fellow coach John Legend, who suggested Rletto needed "more tightening."

Rletto's dramatic version of JVKE's "Golden Hour" received a two-chair turn from Chance and Reba McEntire, narrowly missing out on a full four-chair sweep. Dan + Shay remained on the sidelines but had nothing but praise for Rletto's silky vocal runs, while John revealed he came dangerously close to clicking the big red button.

"That was a such a cool performance!" John remarked later, maybe with a twitch of too-late remorse.

"I was right on the brink, but I feel like you have so many gifts that you’re, like, still honing and just need a little bit more tightening. But you’re already on The Voice — so that’s exciting!”

However, Chance had no reservations about Rletto's strong and controlled vocal delivery. "I was the first to turn —sorry, Reba!" he taunted in an early attempt to get the Artist to his squad.

“You’re a powerhouse vocalist. All the runs, to me, felt extremely intentional. I didn’t really see a point where you lost control. I like doing big songs, so if I can be that Coach for you — I wanna be that!”

Reba McEntire wanted Rletto on her 'The Voice' team

When it came to Rletto's effortless manner, Reba was completely in agreement. "I loved your runs; I loved your vocals," she went on to say. "It was a wonderful performance and I would love to have you on Team Reba!"

Rletto's pop sensibilities undoubtedly piqued Dan + Shay's interest, even if the two-for-one Coaches combination didn't quite turn their chairs in time. "That was phenomenal! I loved your tone," Shay Mooney stated. "And you look freakin’ awesome! That outfit’s sick." "When you hit that chorus, that was the sweet spot of your voice," said Dan Smyers. "Incredible, man!"

Which coach did Rletto choose on 'The Voice' Season 25?

In the end, Chance won, with Rletto joining Team Chance to begin his Season 25 adventure with a mentor who, as Chance described it, "reminds me a lot of myself. I’m very into the performance—galvanizing a crowd and getting them wrapped up in the emotion. He seems to be a real performer; a star!"

Rletto's stylish red outfit, combined with his contagious audience appeal, most likely helped: "He looks like Michael Jackson in the ‘Thriller’ video!" stated Chance.
