LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' Season 23 Battle rounds have begun and they are getting intense! In the last round, coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper have to make some tough decisions and the viewers can't get enough of this drama. Kelly also used her only steal in the March 27 episode to save Kala Banham after Nail decided to keep Gina Miles.

As the battle round continues on the NBC show, things are about to take a more interesting turn. Season 23 of 'The Voice' has introduced a Playoff Pass and we can't wait to see which contestant will impress the coaches enough to score it. In March 28 episode, Chance put Alyssa Lazar and Magnus Martin against each other as he thought they go well together because they combine different musical styles and tones. Chance also wanted to see them perform together because they are so stylistically diverse and complex. While fans liked Alyssa, they thought she wasn't up to the mark and believe Chance made the right choice going with Magnus.

Why did Chance the Rapper pick Magnus Martin over Alyssa Lazar?

Magnus and Alyssa come from the soul and pop genres, respectively, and Chance enjoys combining various musical styles and tones. Both singers have amazing talent, but as we all know only one can move forward to the Knockoffs. Chance asked them to perform 'Your song' by Elton John and Kelly thought the duet was fantastic, with Alyssa piercing through and Magnus displaying a "cozy voice." On the other hand, Niall thought Alyssa had an edge because of her "storytelling" ability.

In the end though, it is Chance's decision and he went with Magnus. While Chance believed Alyssa improved with each performance, Magnus was still chosen as the winner because he had his own take on the song.
