KINGSTOWN, MICHIGAN: 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3 has kicked off with a bang, gripping viewers with its intense drama and amazing plotlines right from the premiere episode.

'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 2 left fans on the edge of their seats with a gripping cliffhanger. The season finale saw Mariam (Dianne Wiest), mother of Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner), fighting for her life after being shot at her home.

The ending of Season 2 sets the stage for an explosive and emotional Season 3. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about Mariam's fate following the cliffhanger ending of 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 2.

What happens to Mariam McLusky in 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3?

In the opening scene of 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3 Episode 1, viewers are plunged into a world of grief as Mayor Mike grapples with the devastating loss of his mother, Mariam. 

Mariam's funeral is attended by Mike's close friends and family, including the entire Kingstown Police Department (KPD). This confirms that Mariam died as a result of the gunshot.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 2, Milo (Aidan Gillen), a Russian mobster, arrives at Mariam's house. She calls Mike, who then contacts his brother Kyle (Taylor Handley), who serves as a police officer, and Ian (Hugh Dillon), Kyle's partner. 

They immediately go to Mariam's house to help her. As the situation intensifies, Milo issues a chilling ultimatum, threatening to harm Mariam unless his demands are met. 

Kyle decides to stop Milo by dealing with his associates. However, his actions trigger a chaotic and violent confrontation, plunging the scene into a frenzied gunfight that puts everyone's lives at risk.

Mariam is accidentally shot by a bullet fired by Kyle during the chaotic gunfight. She is rushed to the hospital, but tragically, she succumbs to her injuries and dies.
