Following Season 1's prison riot, Season 2 of 'Mayor of Kingstown' began with its aftermath. Things get messier with the rise in police brutality. Meanwhile, emphasis is also placed on the rivalry between Mike and the Russian mobster Milo (Aiden Gillen).

Pressure mounts on Mike as he has to bring control as incidents of violence rise inside and outside the prison. While he has to make some risky decisions, he faces angry prisoners and cops.

The season ended with Milo faking his death in a boat explosion and then messing with Mike.

Mike also deals with Iris who is recovering from her trauma inflicted by Milo. The season concludes on an intriguing note, as the fate of Iris hangs in the air and Mike's pursuit of a happy ending by escaping Kingstown is endangered.
