Is McKenna Breinholt OK? 'American Idol' Season 22 star snubs in-person rehearsals with Meghan Trainor
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 contestant McKenna Breinholt has ditched the last few sessions with the guest mentors. McKenna claimed to be sick all week and skipped a guidance session with Gene Simmons during the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame episode.
However, McKenna seemingly felt quite better during the latest episode and received insightful advice from the guest mentor, Meghan Trainor. McKenna's voice was hoarse but she sounded quite better tonight compared to last night.
McKenna connected with Meghan through a video call and revealed that she has opted for Taylor Swift's song, 'Cardigan'. The aspiring singer elaborated on her song choice and noted that she picked the song because it was healing during her breakup.
Did McKenna Breinholt advance to Top 10?
McKenna Breinholt managed to advance to grab a spot in the Top 10. The aspiring singer delivered a soulful performance on 'Cardigan' by Taylor Swift. She graced the stage in a flowy white gown and received compliments from the ABC show judges.
Lionel Richie claimed that McKenna's cold made her voice, "sound really sexy." Katy admitted, "That was my favorite." Meanwhile, Luke Bryan appreciated "the way you milked the moment with the quality of your voice." However, the ABC show viewers appeared to be left unimpressed with McKenna's performance.

Another internet user said, "What is wrong with everyone! McKenna Faith Breinholt cannot sing. She constantly sounds like she is sick or has laryngitis. She can't hit any high notes and she whispers a lot of the words. I think she should model. She's gorgeous. But that's it."
Another X user tweeted, "This show is no longer enjoyable. How can you let Roman go?!? Emmy was not good, McKenna was not good. Kaibrienne was not good!"
