SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 aspiring singer, Triston Harper, performed 'Trouble' by Travis Tritt and earned enough votes to secure a spot in the Top 5 contestants. However, Triston received backlash after he was advanced to Disney Night amid Julia Gagnon and McKenna Faith Breinholt's eliminations.

Triston's passion for dance was evident, and guest mentor Ciara's guidance further enhanced his connection with the audience. Ciara commented on the 15-year-old singer, saying, "Let the fun shine even more." He received compliments from the ABC show judges.

Luke Bryan said, "You out-gyrated me!" before adding, "You keep smiling and dancing and being you." Katy Perry loved watching Triston's mom watch him and noted, "I'm so happy for you."

Meanwhile, on social media, a fan wrote, "Sick of Tristan's schtick. I know dozens of 15-year-olds that are more talented than him." Another person added, "Whoever voted for tristan need their hearing checked."

One critic noted, "HOW THE HELL DID TRISTON MAKE IT! Yallllll." Another fan wrote, "That was so off key. Triston needs to go home." One fan noted, "Stop voting for Triston 😭 he sucks." 'American Idol' Season 22 viewers choose Abi Carter, Jack Blocker, Triston Harper, Will Moseley, and Emmy Russell to be in the Top 5 finalists. These aspiring singers showcased their talents with two performances each in the latest episode, vying for the viewers' votes.

However, the Top 5 contestants will perform next week during Disney night, aiming to secure their place in the Top 3 finalists and avoid elimination. They will perform their favorite songs from the Disney songbook.

'American Idol' Season 22 aspiring singer Triston Harper performed a rendition of 'Easy on Me' to celebrate Adele's night. Triston's falsetto instantly impressed the ABC show judges. Luke Bryan said, "It was, gosh, really real, really you, really well done, a lot of reallys, and you’re really here up on this stage making it happen."

Lionel Richie complimented, "I still want to make sure I check your birth certificate before you leave outta here, because you’re doing some real grownup things up there." Meanwhile, Katy Perry said, "It doesn’t matter if it’s a pop song, it’s a rock song, it’s a country song, it's about how you sell the story."

She added, "And I feel like those words are also your words. I could feel you singing them from your heart, like you wrote them, and I believed it." Triston's mother was quite emotional after hearing judges praising her son.
