Fans were left disappointed and furious after she lost the Best Actress award to Emma Stone. Gladstone was nominated for their starring role in 'Killers of the Flower Moon' as Mollie Burkhart in the epic drama.

Meanwhile, Stone won the 'Best Actress' award for her role in 'Poor Things' as Bella Baxter. The latest award marked Stone's second Oscar win in her career. She was up against Gladstone, Annette Bening for 'Nyad', Sandra Hüller for 'Anatomy of a Fall', and Carey Mulligan for 'Maestro'. Gladstone was shocked to see Stone clinching the title but she appreciated the actress with teary eyes.

However, Gladstone's fans claimed that she was 'robbed' by Stone and deserved to win the title. A social media user tweeted, "Lily Gladstone robbed off." Another person added, "Lilly Gladstone deserved best actress for Killers of Flower Moon Emma Stone robbed her." Another critic noted, "The oscar goes to the skinny white girl again? #LilyGladstone was robbed."

Another internet user penned, "Honestly, I’m not even surprised Lily Gladstone didn’t win at the #Oscars. Disappointing? Yes, absolutely. Surprised? Nope. It’s what “they” do." Another X user suggested, "Robbed is NOT the right word to describe it. Have you even seen Emma Stone on #PoorThings?! The acting aerobics she did on that movie is ridiculous compared to Lily Gladstone!" "Lily Gladstone not winning the Oscar gotta be the biggest snub of all time," stated another viewer.

Emma Stone tearfully gives her Oscar acceptance speech

Actress Emma Stone got emotional after she clinched her second Oscar. Stone notably gave a shout-out to the other actresses who were up for the 'Best Actress' category. She said in her acceptance speech, "The women in this category... Sandra [Hüller], Annette [Bening], Carey [Mulligan], Lily [Gladstone], I share this with you. I’m in awe of you." She added, "It has been such an honor to do all of this together and I hope we get to do more together."

She also thanked her husband, parents and daughter, Louise, who turns three this week. She added that her daughter "has turned our lives technicolor." Additionally, Stone suffered a wardrobe malfunction just before taking the stage to accept the Oscar. She blamed Ryan Gosling for the disaster and said, "My dress is broken. I think it happened during 'I'm Just Ken.'"

Although Gladstone failed to win the Oscars, she earned this year's Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama.

The Golden Globe accolade marked their first-ever award, making them the first Indigenous person to receive the award. Gladstone was left to make yet another history at the 96th Academy Awards, where they were nominated for Best Actress.
