ATLANTA, GEORGIA: 'Mama June: Family Crisis' star June Shannon has recently decided to lose weight using weight loss drugs and the critics were disappointed with her procedure. The WETV show star recently took to her Instagram and shared a video revealing that she has decided to take the drug after struggling with weight fluctuations over the past years.
In the video, June revealed that she has started taking Semaglutide, an FDA-approved prescription medication for people with type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity. June elaborated that she consulted her dermatologist, Dr Anna Charon, about Semaglutide following her unsuccessful attempt to lose weight. The reality star further claimed that she has seen people all over social media using drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro.
June elaborated, "I decided to go with semaglutide a couple months ago through my main doctor." The reality star later urged people to be safe and talk to their primary care physician before considering the medication. The WETV show star also showed off her physique and promised her followers to post weekly updates about her progress as she takes the injections. June even filmed her husband Justin Shroud giving her the first injection.
However, the social media users took to the comment section and slammed June over her claim that her dermatologist has recommended the weight loss drug. Mama June claims she gained weight amid stress of caring Anna Cardwell
Mama June Shannon recently revealed that she has gained weight over the "last year and a half." The reality star claimed that she has gained a lot of weight due to the stress of caring for her daughter Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell amid her stage 4 cancer battle.
Anna along with her daughters moved into June's house before she died in December 2023. June was taking care of her daughter until she took her last breath. June also claimed that she was constantly eating out because of the stress and wasn't focused on her own health. She claimed, "I have packed on about 120, 130 lbs."
