ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson, star of Season 7 of 'Mama June: Family Crisis', recently demanded her money back from her mother, Mama June Shannon.

Honey Boo Boo shared that June had been saving the money that the reality star had received from her television appearances. Honey Boo Boo kicked off her television career with TLC's 'Toddlers & Tiaras'. She later appeared in 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' and 'Mama June' spinoffs.

Honey Boo Boo asserted that June had opened a Coogan account and had been saving all of her paychecks. The reality star needed funds to cover $11,000 for each semester's tuition fees and $2,200 per month for rent. Honey Boo Boo asked her mother if she could withdraw the money on her behalf, June lied and claimed she didn't have permission to access the Coogan account. However, June promised to call the bank to figure out the details.

June admitted to her husband Justin Stroud, "I lied to my children over the years. I've lied to them and told them that they can't get their money till their 21." June also claimed that she had put 80 percent of Honey Boo Boo's paycheck. However, the viewers were left furious as she lied about the account and slammed for not wanting to help her daughter.

A social media user said, "Where are Alana’s WEtv checks going? We are seasons deep and she should have money saved up at least." Another person added, "June sounds stupid as usual. If the money is Alana's, why can't she us it for college???" Another critic noted, "The most pathetic thing I’ve heard in a long time... speaking about her daughter. 'I wanna see you invest in yourself before I invest in you.'"

Another wrote, "What kind of tough love is that?. So,you can help out men and get drugs. But, you can't help your own daughter to go to college." "Ima DIE if she said she never opened the account 😩🫢," wrote another fan. Another follower said, "Who thinks mama June done lost all of Alana’s money 😬😬😬." One fan posted, "Junebug only wants to pay $32,000 for freaking 2 tooth than her own daughter for college!!!! She wins the worst mom of the year award!"

Why did June Shannon refuse to pay for Honey Boo Boo's fees?

Mama June Shannon claimed that she declined to provide financial assistance to her daughter Honey Boo Boo because she wanted to impart a valuable lesson. June aimed to encourage Honey Boo Boo to focus on self-reliance and learn to navigate challenges independently. June's husband, Justin Stroud, also supported her in this decision.

June explained to Justin that she lied to Pumpkin and Honey Boo Boo about Coogan's account so that "they wouldn't blow through it." The WETV star added, "And that is why I have chose to give her some tough love and say no, I'm not gonna pay for college, to say, Alana, I wanna see you invest in yourself before I ever think about investing in you." Justin was on board with June and noted, "It's smart to do it like that, Junebug, but at the end of the day, that's one of them life lessons that she's gonna have to learn."

Honey Boo Boo visits Colorado for college tour

Honey Boo Boo's elder sister and legal guardian, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird, made sure to always be available to help and support the reality star. After June refused to pay for Honey Boo Boo's fees, Pumpkin decided to take the responsibility and claimed she would figure out a way to pay.

Pumpkin then organized a trip to Colorado to visit Honey Boo Boo's nursing college. Meanwhile, Honey Boo Boo's boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, also obtained permission to relocate out of state, and he joined the sisters on their journey.
