'Mama June: Family Crisis' Season 7 star Justin Stoud calls out June Shannon over her 'lie' about Coogan account
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: 'Mama June: Family Crisis' star June Shannon spent her daughter Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson's earnings which she was supposed to save in Coogan account. However, when confronted by her daughters, Honey Boo Boo and Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird, she lied and tried to make excuses for the 'missing' funds.
Honey Boo Boo turned to her stepfather Justin Stroud, seeking justice and inquiring if he had any knowledge of the missing money. Justin admitted that he was unaware of anything and confronted June Shannon over the missing money. In the upcoming episode, Justin confronts June for lying about missing Coogan account funds. Justin had a conversation with June and attempted to know the reality of family finances.
In the preview, June tried to defend herself and noted, "Yes, not 100% [of the money] went in [the Coogan account]. But you have to think about the taxes, it takes 50%, plus you have to pay the state you live in at the time, so you have to pay California tax and you have to pay that." She added, "At the end of the day, you're only gonna get $10,000, $6,000 or even $2."
However, Justin claimed in the confessional that he didn't think June truly understood the situation. The WETV show star wasn't ready to trust her and admitted, "June must think I'm some kind of idiot, 'Well, it's 50% tax in Cali.' Cali's tax is high, but it ain't that high." He added in a confessional, "And honestly, I really think she's trying to convince herself that she did the right thing." Justin also claimed in the preview that June has put her own sobriety at risk by "lying."
Mama June defends stealing Honey Boo Boo's money
Honey Boo Boo and Pumpkin's explosive confrontation left Mama June speechless. Later, the reality star defended herself, asserting that she had used funds from the Coogan account to cover expenses such as Honey Boo Boo's trips and eyelashes. The reality star also said that she bought her new house from her daughter's earnings.
June reportedly spent 80 percent of Honey Boo Boo's earnings leaving her with just $33k. However, June claimed that $33k was enough for Honey Boo Boo adding, "That's a hell of a lot more than most 18-year-olds start off their life with."
Justin Stroud feels 'hurt' by Mama June's lie
‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ star Justin Stroud expressed disappointment and hurt after June Shannon revealed that she had used her daughter Honey Boo Boo's Coogan account money. He claimed that he had never lied about anything to June and shared everything with her, expecting the same from her in return.
Justin recalled the moment before their wedding when he asked June if he needed to know what could potentially jeopardize their future together. However, June denied it and claimed that she had shared everything until now.
After the recent revelation, Justin expressed his feelings to the cameras and said, "I was really hurt because I thought me and June were supposed to be able to tell each other everything, and if she knew that it was going to blow up like this, she should have told me about it."
