Emmys 2024 fans 'pissed' as 'Better Call Saul' ends 6-season run with 0 win while 'Succession' becomes Outstanding Drama Series
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After six seasons and 53 Emmy nominations, seven of which were for Outstanding Drama Series, 'Better Call Saul' has yet to win. Fans criticized the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, as 'Succession' won the majority of the awards.
The highly anticipated 'Breaking Bad' prequel received seven Emmy nominations on January 15th, including two for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for the "Point and Shoot" episode and the series finale, "Saul Gone," as well as Outstanding Drama Series, Supporting Actress for Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, and Lead Actor for Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman. However, the prequel was not selected for any of the categories.
'Succession,' on the other hand, won Monday night's award for best drama series. Kieran Culkin won for writing in the drama series, while Jennifer Coolidge won for supporting actress in the drama series for 'The White Lotus.'
On X, fans wrote, "I absolutely love SUCCESSION by the way, I’m just pissed how overlooked BETTER CALL SAUL was by the Emmy’s for 7 years." Another user chimed in, "succession I'm gonna let you finish but better call saul had the best final season of all time, etc etc."

How many Emmy did 'Breaking Bad' win?
Even though 'Better Call Saul' received positive reviews, it was never as successful as the parent series 'Breaking Bad', which took home 16 Emmys from 58 nominations. Bryan Cranston won four Lead Actor awards, Aaron Paul won three in the supporting actor category, and Anna Gunn won one for supporting actress.
How many Emmys did 'Succession' win?
'Succession,' an HBO (WBD.O) series about the brutal fight for control of a worldwide economic empire, won six awards for its fourth and final season. "It was a great sadness to end the show, but it was a great pleasure to do it," said creator Jesse Armstrong.
Rhea Seehorn hints new series with ‘Better Call Saul’s Vince Gilligan
Rhea may not have won the Emmy for best supporting actress in a drama series for her part in 'Better Call Saul' at the 2024 Emmys, but she has already hinted at a reunion with co-creator Vince Gilligan.
While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter on the Emmys red carpet, the actress remained cryptic about the series and character, but did reveal more about the role that Vince penned expressly for her.
She went on to say that the character is one she's "never played before" and "extremely unlike anything I've ever done."
