Skaar does not make an in-person appearance in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ but the film does include a blink-and-you-miss-it Easter egg featuring Hulk’s son. In a scene set at Empire State University, a photograph sits on Bruce Banner’s desk, where Banner now works as a professor, according to a report from Comic Basics. Director Destin Daniel Cretton has confirmed that the detail was placed there for viewers to find. The Easter egg brings Skaar back into the MCU conversation without showing what has happened to him since his introduction. The film does not show where Skaar is during these events. The image is one of many Easter eggs from the film.
The Easter egg appears when Peter Parker seeks out Banner at Empire State University. A small printed photo of Skaar can be seen beside a binder on the desk at the front of Banner’s lecture hall. According to the report, the picture uses a still from Skaar’s appearance in ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.’ The placement is easy to miss, but it shows that Banner still keeps his son's photo near him.
Cretton acknowledged the photograph after a viewer found it while examining the scene. In an interview with The Wrap, the filmmaker laughed and said, “I’m glad people are finding it.” He did not explain why the image was included or say that it was setting up another appearance. His response confirms the Easter egg, but it does not turn the desk photo into a physical cameo by Skaar or an announcement about the character’s future.
Skaar was first introduced in the finale of ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,’ which was released in October 2022. After returning from Sakaar, Banner brought his son to a family gathering and introduced him to Jennifer Walters and her relatives. Wil Deusner played Skaar in the silent scene, which offered no explanation of his age, his life on Sakaar, or his relationship with Banner.
The original introduction also left several parts of Skaar’s story unresolved. ‘She-Hulk’ established that Banner spent time on Sakaar after answering a message sent by a Sakaaran spacecraft, but the series did not show how he found his son. It also did not reveal whether Skaar remained on Earth after meeting the Walters family. The desk photo does not answer those questions, though it indicates that Skaar remains part of Banner’s personal life.
Marvel Studios has not confirmed another project for Skaar, and Cretton’s comment did not offer one. The photograph can be read as evidence of continuity between Banner’s story in ‘She-Hulk’ and his role in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ rather than as proof of a planned return. For now, the confirmed detail is limited to a photo on Banner’s desk, while Skaar’s next physical MCU appearance remains unannounced.
