Oscar Nominations 2022: Billie Eilish may win her first Academy award for 'No Time To Die'

Billie Eilish, who has bagged several Grammys so far, could easily end up with her first Oscar this year

Billie Eilish, 20-year-old singer and 7-time Grammy winner just landed her first Oscar nomination on Tuesday, 8th February. The pop idol bagged the 'Best Original Song' nod for her single 'No Time To Die,' the title track for the 2021 James Bond movie of the same name. The song, however, was released in May 2020 due to Covid-19 theater restrictions, almost a year and a half before its accompanying movie was launched in theatres. 

Billie Eilish was nominated alongside her brother Finneas, who is also her creative partner. 'No Time To Die' has received a great response from listeners and has already won the GRAMMY Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and is nominated in the category in the upcoming Critics' Choice Awards.

However, fans are of the opinion that Billie doesn't have an easy win ahead with Ariana Grande being a strong contender too. She might end up surpassing Billie by a thin margin of votes. Besides Eilish and Grande, Beyonce has also received a nomination for the Oscars 2022 for her song 'Be Alive,' which is also her first nomination for the Oscars. 

Nonetheless, Billie fans are more than thrilled over her Oscar nomination and have taken to social media to share their enthused thoughts about her first-ever Oscar nomination, which she will share with brother Finneas O'Connell. Several icons of the music industry are also congratulating the young singer on the major career milestone. While the competition for the Oscars is difficult, to say the least, Billie has bagged several Grammys so far and could easily end up with her first Oscar this year.
