'Miss me?': Billie Eilish returns to her ROOTS
As the New Year approaches, Billie Eilish is preparing for a new beginning by returning to her brunette roots. "Miss me?" the 19-year-old singer said posting a pic of her brunette locks on Instagram.
Billie teased followers with a pic of her bangs on her Instagram Story, captioned "guess what." The Grammy winner's followers are clearly adoring the darker hairdo. Her fans responded with a slew of love emoticons beneath her photo, seemingly astonished at the sight of her new appearance. "Insane," said Claudia Sulewski, who is dating Billie's brother Finneas.

Billie was a brunette from root to tip for a short time in 2019 before adding some edge to her style with slime green roots. She took it a step farther now and colored her remaining brunette hair black. Though it's unknown when Billie chose to go back to her signature dark brown, she was last spotted with blonde hair on Instagram promoting her own fragrance brand, “EILISH”.
Prior to this shocking revelation, the pop artist chatted with Vanity Fair on how her looks affect her self-esteem. Her former jet-black hair and bright green tips, she stated in an interview published Nov. 30, made her feel too prominent in public. "My attitude used to be like, ‘I can't go out, I can't go here, I can't go there,'" she added. "I wasn't able to go to a park or go get coffee, It freaked me out. But in the last year, I opened up to it."
She went on to claim that it wasn't simply her hair that made her stand out; "I was like, ‘I only want to be seen if I look like myself.' So I would never wear anything normal." Billie now feels more at ease blending in, as seen by her darker hair.
Billie changed her hair colours in March, just after she and Finneas played at the Grammys in 2021. She worked with hairdresser Lissa Renn to complete the change, which took 6 weeks, according to Lissa.
"The process is real when you're doing it right. 6 weeks to get all the black out of her ends without damaging it, along with her following my strict haircare regime. We actually loved all the stages of lifting color but the end result is [fire emoji]," She expressed herself on Instagram. She's now returning to her dark origins, showing that brunettes may have more fun than blondes.
Fans also expressed their delights over the new hair color, one person commented, “AHHHHH NEW COLOUR!!! MEANS A NEW ALBUM NEW ERA!!! AHHH!! ALSO, SHE LOOKS SO GOOD IN THIS COLOUR AND HAIRCUT!!” Another one added, “Beautiful BILLIEE your beautiful no matter how you look.” another person remarked, “omg finally you have a color that suits you as a person keep it that way”. “THE BLONDE ERA IS OVER ???” another fan wondered.
