Biggest snubs of Grammy 2022 nominations: From BTS to Drake and Miley Cyrus
Would it be a successful award show without people grieving about their favorite artists not being able to make into the nominations? While there's no air of doubt that Doja Cat and Billie Eilish did great in the Grammy 2022 nominations list, there are plenty of snubs sprinkled all over.
BTS, one of the most popular K-pop music groups, has been nominated for the 'best pop duo/group performance'. However, the band couldn't make it to the marquee 'record of the year' category. While there were two extra spots in the 'record of the year' category, BTS' song 'Butter' couldn't grab a spot in the nominations list. On the bright side, BTS is one of the only two music groups to be nominated in the 'best pop duo/group performance category'.

While Grammy declared Polo G eligible for the 'best new artist' award, yet he passed over and did not get nominated in the category. Moneybagg Yo and YoungBoy, who have been building their career as rappers for a few years, have also passed over the 'best new artist' nod. Much to everyone's surprise, one of the most popular albums of the year, Drake's 'Certified Lover Boy', did not get nominated for the 'album of the year' category. However, two of his albums, 'Views' and 'Scorpion' were nominated in the category. He has also made his way into the 'best rap album' and 'best rap performance' categories.
Despite the nomination list featuring Dua Lipa and Billy Idol, Miley Cyrus' seventh studio album 'Plastic Hearts' was left out. While her singles 'Prisoner' and 'Angels Like You' exemplify her skills of matching authenticity and rock, it seems that the voters did not enjoy her singles.
The audience had every reason to expect Megan Thee Stallion's debut album 'Good News' to earn a spot in the 'best new artist' category as the album bowed at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and pushed her ahead as a notable current female rapper.
Kacey Musgraves, who is nominated in two country categories for the track 'Camera Roll', could not pass the nod for her album 'Star Crossed'. The album is a follow-up to 'Golden Hour', the 'album of the year' award winner. Do you think that the album would have had a better chance if the Grammy committee allowed it to compete for the best country album? Well, we'll never know.
Maneskin, the Italian band, was not only rejected from the record of the year nomination for 'Beggin'', but it was also ignored for the 'best rock performance' and the 'best new artist' category. Earlier this year, Ariana Grande also released 'Positions', which earned reasonable acclaim. Even though the song has landed in the 'best pop solo' performance, it wasn't able to score in the major categories.
