'American Idol' Top 24: Fans say 'Ed Sheeran look out' after watching Fritz Hager sing
Heavily inspired by former 'American Idol' winner Phillip Phillips, 21-year-old Fritz Hager decided to try out for the hit singing competition show. Though he managed to impress the judges with his smooth vocals, their only feedback to him was to work on his confidence and not to let his nerves get the best of him.
After surviving the grueling Hollywood Week, and Showstopper round looks like the security guard's confidence is steadily beginning to soar. When it was time for Fritz to perform before the live audience and the judges for his Top 24 performance, Fritz showed off his newfound confidence as he crooned to 'Waves' by Dean Lewis. The judges especially Katy Perry and Lionel Richie were pleasantly surprised with Fritz's transformation and lauded him for taking their feedback in his stride and working on it.

It wasn't just the judges who enjoyed Fritz's confident persona and performance, fans too couldn't get enough of it. Several fans took to Twitter and the show's YouTube page to rave about Fritz's flawless performance. A fan tweeted, "Could listen to a Fritz concert for hours. Ed Sheeran look out!! #AmericanIdol." "I've been waiting for #fritz to do @deanlewismusic & baby boy killed it #AmericanIdol," wrote a fan. "Man this is going to get tough. #AmericanIdol I think that Fritz Hager might hit top 5 though," predicted a fan.
