'American Idol' Top 24: Fans say Leah Marlene 'lives inside music', praise unique vocals
Leah Marlene may hail from Normal town, Illinois, but this bubbly 20-year-old self-proclaimed "weirdo" is anything but normal. After wowing the judges consistently with her unique vocals, Leah managed to earn a spot on the Top 24 performers list. This led to her getting an opportunity to perform before a live audience at Disney's Aulani Resort in Hawaii.
With a live audience cheering for her, Leah pulled out all stops and gave a groovy performance to 'Call Me' by Blondie. By the end of her performance, Lionel Richie was on his feet grooving to Leah's magical vocals. The judges couldn't stop raving about her "one of a kind" vocals. While Katy Perry and Lionel were pleased with everything about her performance, Luke Bryan however, felt that the beginning of her performance wasn't as impressive as the later part.

Leah might have received mixed feedback from the judges, but she emerged as a clear fan favorite on the internet. Several fans took to the YouTube comments section of the 'American Idol' page to praise Leah's unique vocals. A fan commented, "My favorite!!! She's one of a kind and her vocals are insane!" "Love her. She's one of my favorites along with Nicolina. Her style is dope too. Like Katy said she is one of a kind," wrote a fan. "I like her. She doesn't fit into a mold. Also thumbs up for the hat," added a fan.
"I love her the most. so many good vocalist this season but she is unique and the most distinct.. Record ready tbh..," expressed a fan. "Shes in my top 3, I absolutely adore her and am blown away by her voice each performance, she always surprises me with her amazingly unique vocals," shared a fan. "She's the kind of singer that makes me wish I had a longer time on Earth just to experience what she's putting out. She lives inside the music and that my friends is a magical gift," revealed a fan.
Leah is definitely emerging as a very strong contender on 'American Idol' Season 20, and we can't wait to watch her journey on the show.
