Not the most legendary opening weekend for 'You'
Just to clarify, it's not the greatest opening for the Netflix show's premiere. There are many series that had the best opening with much more viewing in its first opening week, like 'Monster' by Ryan Murphy recorded 196.2 million watched hours in its first week of opening and season 2 of 'Bridgerton' had 193.02 million viewed hours. 'Ginny & Georgia' Season 2, which released on January 5, opened to 180.47 million hours viewed, making it a better performing show than season 3 of 'Emily in Paris' and 'The Watcher.'
It has been two weeks since 'Ginny and Georgia' Season 2 dropped and it still holds the second spot on the chart. As per Netflix Top 10, the mother-daughter duo series with 25.7 million hours surpassed 'Wednesday' which picked up 22.65 million hours viewed during the viewing window. Coming back on the same list, 'Ginny and Georgia' took the fifth spot for their first season with 15.79 million hours viewed. The social experiment series 'Love is Blind' joined the top 10 list with 12.53 million watched hours, making it the eighth most popular English TV show.
Some favourites didn't make the cut
The comedy-drama series 'Freeridge', which previously crashed the chart at the ninth position after its February 2 release, didn't quite make the cut in the viewing window. The series was joined with 'That ’90s Show' which also didn't end up on the list prior to its appearance in its third week of availability on the streamer. On the film side, Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher's romantic-comedy, 'Your Place or Mine', opened to 51.2 million watched hours, reaching to the No 1 spot on the English-language films chart just in time for the occasion of Valentine's Day.
