Spoilers for 'You' Season 4 Episode 1

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The day has arrived and Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is back to haunt us one more time. After the thrilling conclusion of Season 3, a lot of people might ask what’s next for Joe. Well, a guy like Joe doesn’t need a project to carry on because his life is such a mess that wherever he goes, a new, bloody chapter begins and that’s what happens when he reaches London in search of Marienne (Tati Gabrielle). In the first episode of Season 4, we get to know that Joe reached London to find Marienne and start a new life as a professor.

He is living in one of those areas where some of the most affluent people live and his house is filled with books. He is teaching English Literature at a university and has named himself Jonathan Moore. Joe feels that London is a good city with good people, but make no mistake, there are a lot of d*****bags out there and one of them is Professor Malcolm Harding (Stephen Hagan), a rich man who is in this profession just for the sake of it. Malcolm and his partner Kate Galvin (Charlotte Ritchie) live just across a narrow street and Joe is able to watch them from his window.

What is Sundry House and why is Malcolm taking Joe there?

One night, Kate is heading somewhere when a couple of random people attack her and try to rob her. However, Joe reaches there in time and saves her. Kate is trying to call the police, but Joe tells her that she shouldn’t mention his name because of some visa issue. Well, we know the reality. Nevertheless, he reaches home and was enjoying the evening when Malcolm comes to his house and thanks her for saving Kate’s life. But the conversation changes when Malcolm believes that rich people are the victims here and they don’t get their due in making the UK such an amazing place. However, he stops the conversation and begins to talk about how one of his friends, Adam Pratt (Lukas Gage), recently opened a place called Sundry House which is only accessible to the elites. Malcolm invites Joe with him to that elitist place and Joe gets to meet everyone who believes they are better than the rest.

As soon as they reach there, he meets Lady Phoebe Borehall-Blaxworth, Blessing Bosede, Simon Soo, Sophie Soo, Roald, Connie, Gemma, and Adam Pratt. Every single one of them is a spoiled, rich brat and is just spending their parents’ fortune. The night resumes with drinks and drugs when Malcolm gives Joe a small packet to hydrate. In the end, Joe is just sitting in the corner and drinking alone while others celebrate for no reason. That’s when Joe meets Rhys Montrose, a man who has come out of poverty to make a career of his own and is planning to run for the Mayor of London. They both bond over their horrible childhood and how life has been so hard.

Did someone get killed during the party?

After their conversation, Joe was certain that he has to leave this place and as soon as he gets up to do that, Phoebe, Gemma, and Kate come together to stop him. Phoebe forcefully gets him drunk and Joe was now the soul of the party. He passed out on one of the sofas at the Sundry House and when he opened his eyes in the morning, he was sleeping on the couch of his house. Joe made coffee and as soon he reached his dining room, he found that a dead body is lying on his dining table and it was none other than Malcolm.

Joe had no idea about this because he doesn’t remember anything and needed to take care of the body. In the process, he finds out that Kate has already told the police that Malcolm is missing. He is able to take Malcolm’s body to a secluded place and shreds his body to pieces to throw them in sewage pipes and River Thames.

The episode ends with someone downloading the app Evanesce on their phone and sending him messages on how amazingly he handled the Malcolm situation. The tables have turned now and it’s Joe who is being stalked this time. Who is stalking Joe? Did something happen during his first visit to Sundry House? Well, things are getting interesting for sure and Joe has no idea who is spying on him.
