'Lupin'

Arsène Lupin is a fictional gentleman thief and master of disguise created in 1905 by French writer Maurice Leblanc. Taking Lupin as an inspiration, the Netflix mystery-thriller 'Lupin' takes you through the life of Assane Diop and his father, who are Senegalese immigrants, as he becomes a thief with a serious case of identity issue after his father was accused of stealing a valuable necklace when he was a child. This was the prologue of the series, which slowly unfolds over each episodes. The series will give you a major sense of deja vu, as it'll remind you of the show 'Sherlock'. Lupin takes you through the thrill of the protagonist being on the other side of the law with a very depressing backstory.
'Giri/Haji'

A series set in both London and Japan that promises both a thrilling chase and extraordinary fight scenes, 'Giri/Haji' begins when a detective from Tokyo, Kenzo Mori (Takehiro Hira), is tasked by a well-known Yakuza crime family, that co-exists with the police, to secretly go to London in search of his brother Yuto (Yosuke Kubozuka), who he thought died a year ago. The series takes you through some dark and violent waves, but is hearty and full of fun at times. The story is about two brothers discovering each other and knowing the truth about oneself.
'Borgen'
Country: Denmark
Category: Political Drama
Finding an excellent political drama, other than 'House of Cards', was tough until 2020 when Netflix brought the streaming rights for the first three seasons of 'Borgen' and even agreed to produce the Season 4. 'Borgen' tells the story of Birgitte Nyborg (Sidse Babett Knudson), a politician who becomes the Prime Minister of Denmark one day. The story is about her struggles, as she is attacked from all directions, even by her own and the media. The best thing about the show is the strength and bravery Birgitte shows in the face of hardships. She doesn't give up on her morals and values despite the pressures of the office she holds. The show also breaks stereotypes attached to women becoming significant figures and having to balance their lives at home and at work.
