Captain America makes a surprise cameo in 'X-Men '97'
In the beginning of Episode 7, we find Rogue absolutely devastated over Gambit's death, on a hunt for Bolivar Trask. She moves from one location to another, guided by intel from someone in the military. Eventually, she reaches a snowy landscape and a private compound.
As she steps foot in the compound, she is quickly stopped in her tracks by Captain America's shield. This marks his first appearance in 'X-Men '97', with his previous appearance being in 'X-Men: The Animated Series'.
When Rogue encounters Captain America, he reveals that he is also searching for Bolivar Trask. He offers to help Rogue find him, as he knows all the secrets about the place they're in.
It turns out there is an underground facility that Trask used to operate in, which was cleared just before Rogue and Captain America arrived.
Will Captain America return for another episode in 'X-Men '97?
Let's be honest here. 'X-Men '97' is primarily about the X-Men. Even though Captain America made cameo appearances in two episodes of the previous show, they were in different seasons.
It's unlikely we'll see Captain America again for the rest of this season, but he may return for 'X-Men '97' Season 2, perhaps in an episode with Wolverine, given their history.
Nonetheless, seeing Captain America with his iconic look and shield always makes us smile.
