What happened in 'X-Men '97' Episode 6?
In Episode 6 of 'X-Men '97', new characters such as the Kree-Shi’ar War, Deathbird, and Ronan the Accuser (whom we've previously encountered in 'Guardians of the Galaxy') made their debut.
The Kree and Shi’ar, two alien races in constant conflict in the Marvel universe, set the stage for many iconic comic stories through their ongoing war.
Deathbird, the sister of Shi’ar empress Lilandra Neramani, who is romantically involved with Professor X, also makes an appearance. Additionally, the Shi’ar Imperial Guard, led by Gladiator, is featured.
The Shi’ar managed to revive Professor X / Charles Xavier, who is still alive and set to marry Empress Lilandra Neramani. In the comics, they have a daughter named Xandra Neramani, who currently reigns as empress of the Shi’ar Empire.
Forge, who is Native American, relies more on his technological mutant abilities than his mystical powers.
Despite rarely showcasing his full power, Professor X impressively pulls everyone into the Astral Plane, including Gladiator, demonstrating his strength.
Notably, Storm returns to her original iconic costume design from 'Giant-Size X-Men' (1975). Meanwhile, Gambit contacts Professor X in the Astral Plane, informing him of the Genoshan Genocide from the previous episode. This prompts Professor X to leave the Shi’ar Empire and return to Earth.
Towards the conclusion, it appears that Mr Sinister is responsible for the genocide in Genosha, although, in the comics, it was Cassandra Nova, the twin sister of Charles Xavier, who was responsible.
What to expect from 'X-Men '97' Episode 7?
In Episode 7 of 'X-Men '97', we eagerly anticipate Professor X and Storm reuniting with the X-Men to fight for mutants and seek justice for the Genosha massacre.
With Mister Sinister revealed as the mastermind behind the attack, we can expect another storyline focusing on him as the main antagonist.
