What happened in 'RHOBH' Season 13, Episode 16?

In the penultimate episode, another therapy session unfolded for Erika Jayne, delving into the complexities of emotional warfare. Eager to shed the weight of her legal troubles, Erika sought redemption through the ladies, disguised as a journey to mend her reputation under the guise of therapy.

Meanwhile, Sutton geared up for a long-awaited second date, her blossoming relationship with her horse, Santos, taking center stage after a season of romantic uncertainty. Kyle paid Sutton a visit at the stables, sparking conversations about the Barcelona trip and Sutton's adjustment to life post-marriage. With her ex's move to London, Sutton confronted the reality of her newfound independence, embracing the changes that lay ahead.

Kyle, nodding attentively, seized the moment to broach the subject. "Did you guys go to therapy or anything?" she inquired, smoothly transitioning from Sutton's divorce saga to subtly introduce her own marital discord. Acknowledging that she and Mauricio had embarked on therapy, Kyle confessed to the strain their workloads had placed on their relationship. Despite her conviction of being a devoted wife and mother, doubts lingered about Mauricio's place in her evolving life.

With her children reaching adulthood and her own sense of independence solidifying, Kyle grappled with the uncertainty surrounding Mauricio's role in her future. Meanwhile, Garcelle Beauvais and her son, Jax Joseph Nilon took a stand against cyberbullying by creating an anti-bullying video in response to a racist cyber attack Jax endured last year. Together, they delivered powerful messages for Cybersmile, championing the fight against online harassment with robotic precision.

Following up on Jax's plea for greater independence in the season opener, Garcelle elaborates on her readiness to relinquish control and tailor her parenting approach to meet each of her sons' unique needs. Meanwhile, after a season of audacious endeavors—including the daring feat of dating on television—Sutton finally secures a second date. Meeting Steve at a pub, they engage in an awkward yet charged conversation, fueled by palpable chemistry.

As Sutton retrieves a bottle of grapefruit juice from her purse to mix with her vodka, Steve appears unperturbed by the unconventional concoction. In another scene, viewers are transported to Kyle's home, where her marriage seems to be slowly unraveling. This juxtaposition follows a segment showcasing budding romance on 'The Billionaire Bachelorette', intensifying Kyle's frustration as Mauricio casually characterizes their therapy as "fun," oblivious to the gravity of their marital discord.

Meanwhile, Annemarie Wiley's tenure as a Housewife takes an unexpected turn as her much-anticipated group event—the Champagne & Diamonds Brunch—unfolds. However, aside from this gathering and a brief flashback, Annemarie's presence remains sparse throughout the episode. At the brunch, the ladies browse a selection of jewelry, but Sutton is more preoccupied with locating the jug of vodka in the kitchen, embodying her infamous "Tipsy Sutton" persona.

The women all look over a random table of jewelry, but Sutton is more interested in the jug of vodka she discovers in the kitchen. Erika is completely focused on one thing: the apology she believes the ladies owe her. As Erika tells Crystal Kung Minkoff, "You were the only person to say, ‘I’m really sorry that I contributed to your pain," we cut to a flashback of Crystal saying just that.

But, before Erika can compel the women to apologize, Annemarie extends an olive branch to Crystal. The two resolve their disagreement and decide to move on. With all the women back together, Erika seizes the chance to receive her long-awaited apologies. She is still upset with the group "as a whole" for not supporting her when her life went apart.

When Erika says she wants an apology from "certain people in this group," Sutton lends a helping hand by pointing to herself. When Erika adds that these folks "did not believe in me," Sutton raises her hand. Dorit isn't in the mood to apologize for "one line" she spoke 18 months ago, while Kyle insists she never doubted Erika's innocence. Her concern was just Erika's basic lack of empathy.

It's not unexpected that Sutton makes the initial apology, but it's a little startling how genuine it is. Even Erika lets down her guard and accepts the apology, which is all she truly wants.
