BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Dorit Kemsley is facing a lot of backlash due to her British accent.
Born in Woodridge, Connecticut, 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star's parents are Shalom Lemel and Rachel Lemel, both of Jewish heritage. Shalom, of Israeli descent, and Rachel, born in Morocco.
Now, it appears that fans are displeased with Kemsley's accent on the Bravo show.
A Reddit user shared, "I could not stand Dorit when she first appeared. Her weird fake accents still drive me insane. Dorit has come a long way. I’m not sure when but she has mellowed out a lot."
Another social media user added, "I never found anything to like about her- from her hair to her face, to her attitude! Plus I never got past her fake a** accent! Child of Connecticut!"
Followed by a user who penned, "Erm, I fill my kettle through the spout… but at least my British accent is real."
A user went on to say, "You just nailed it! I never even understood why I disliked her from the start. Her fakeness is too transparent!"
Another user chimed in, "I think Dorit's problem is that she puts on this fake persona and I don't feel like she's relatable because she refuses to be herself."
A comment read, "Oh my God, at the beginning and her accent, it was so off-putting. It just makes her seem fake and unrelatable."
'RHOBH' star Garcelle Beauvais takes a dig at Dorit Kemsley for her 'Karen behavior'
In a tense 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' scene, Garcelle Beauvais called out Kemsley for her "Karen behavior."
During the January 3, 2024, episode of the Bravo series, Garcelle told Dorit, “There’s a pattern with you that I don’t know whether you’re aware of or not, but I’m just going to be completely blunt."
Beauvais further added, “I feel like two years ago, we were talking about people of color. Has there been growth since the last time you were like, people of color have worked for you?”
In a confessional, Kemsley mentioned that being called a “Karen” is a “very, very serious, dangerous accusation.”
The reality TV star said, “It’s hurtful, and that accusation holds a lot of implications. I’m not feeling comfortable with this at all.”
