TV host Wendy Williams is ready to return to the small screen after taking some time off to focus on her health.

On February 21, the host announced her three-week hiatus much to the surprise of her fans. She joked; “I’ll be back in two. I’m not an heiress — who is going to pay my bills? Are you serious? I’m just saying, I come from working class.”

The Wendy Williams Show host confirmed her return date will be March 19, after her doctor-ordered hiatus of three weeks due to her Graves' disease. Williams tweeted that actor Jerry O’Connell will fill in as the show’s first guest-host in the interim, while she “gets some much-needed rest."

"Jerry has been such a good friend to me and to the show. We’re happy to welcome him as a guest host … Can’t wait to get back in my purple chair!” the 53-year-old stated.

According to a statement released, Williams’ hiatus was “intended to get her medication and levels from her long-public battle with hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease in sync.”

When she announced her hiatus William explained; "Graves’ disease squeezes the muscles behind the eyeballs,” she explained, admitting that her viewers spotted her eye issue before she did. Williams said the symptoms were following the focus on her son Kevin‘s senior year of high school and applying to colleges, as well as her hectic work schedule.

She had initially canceled an appointment with her endocrinologist in December in favor of a business meeting. Williams had seen the doctor just a day before she made an announcement.

Williams had canceled shows earlier in February because she was experiencing 'flu-ish' symptoms and had also fainted during a live broadcast of her show on Halloween, which she said was because of getting “overheated” in her elaborate Statue of Liberty costume. The day after the incident, Williams told her audience that she had been low on electrolytes at the time.
