The semifinals of ‘The Voice’ Season 21 kicked off with Episode 23 aired on Monday, December 6 where we saw the top eight contestants performing in front of the coaches. The latest episode saw both solo and duet performances from the remaining singers. The theme for the semifinal performance episode focused on the songs from the '90s.

The only country singer left on the show i.e. Lana Scott from Team Blake gave a thrilling performance on Carrie Underwood's ‘Something in the Water’. The singer had dedicated this song to her mother as “a big thank you” for all the support she gave her through this journey. While the judges seemed impressed with her set, many social media users claimed that she was off-key. John Legend told Lana that she has been consistent throughout the competition.

Blake Shelton vouches for Lana Scott

Blake, on various occasions earlier, had shown confidence in Lana and recently had said that she will make it to the finals. Blake, while speaking to her in the latest episode, said that this week was more important than the finale. He concluded that this was by far her best performance of the season. Apart from her solo performance, Lana also joined for a duet with Ariana Grande’s team members Jim & Sasha Allen on the song ‘Hold My Hand’.  In the next episode, only five will make it to the finale as the rest of them will, unfortunately, have to head back home no matter on what team they are.

‘Horrible from beginning to end’, says Twitter

Social media users brutally trolled the trio’s performance along with Lana’s solo set. Speaking on the same, one user said, “It was horrible from beginning to end. She is no where near Carrie status. Horrible song choice. The "coaches" need to be honest. It was off pitch and not good.” Another stated, “Im so sorry but country stan please give it up. she is cute but finale material where.”

One user tweeted, “Love her heart... she seemed to be out of tune with the song until Amazing Grace. She did well on Hold My Hand, though”, as another shared, “I’m clearly not hearing what her fans are. She’s consistently off pitch.” The next one tweeted, “That was not very good. Terrible song choice.”  Meanwhile, one added, “I pray Carrie underwood never hears this. This sounds absolutely horrible and she ruined the song.” Another said, “If lana and jim & sasha gets to the top 5 im going to commit a federal crime”, one user concluded, “If the results tomorrow aren’t Lana & Jim and Sasha heading home? I will lose it!”
