PARIS FRANCE: The exciting, espionage-infused journey of 'The Veil' has finally arrived at its destination, providing answers to some of the unanswered questions that it raised over its six-episode duration.
Created by Steven Knight, the series follows the journey of two women who are trying to outsmart each other: Imogen Salter (Elisabeth Moss) and Adilah El Idrissi (Yumna Marwan).
Imogen, an MI6 veteran, is assigned the mission of revealing Adilah's true identity. Adilah is thought to be the feared ISIS commander Djinn Al Raqqa, but she pretends to be an innocent French woman who is caught in a terrible situation. What's the actual deal? What makes Adilah the target of suspicion as a commander of ISIS? Why is Imogen so determined not to harm Adilah?
The series' season finale provided the definitive answers to a number of these queries. In addition to showing Adilah and Imogen's genuine intentions, the series' final episode also reveals one of Imogen's father Marcus Seabright's (Phill Langhorne's) most shocking secrets.
Adilah El Idrissi and Imogen Salter's escape plot leads to dangerous repercussions
Mogen makes the decision to ask her former lover and mentor Michael Althorp (James Purefoy) for assistance in obtaining new passports and a letter of refugee status for Adilah and her daughter Yasmina (Keyla Bara/Neyla Bara).
Soon after arriving at Michael's manor, Imogen is suspicious when Michael informs her that he is aware of Adilah's situation.
Later, Imogen concludes that Adilah is only a front and that the Russian FSB was responsible for all of the planning after learning that Michael had been spying on both her and Adilah and that he was thus aware of every detail of the case.
The women bond over their shared experience of motherhood where Adilah confides that she doesn't know Yasmina's father since many ISIS members used her following a failed terrorist attack.
Later that night, Imogen puts on a red dress in an attempt to get Michael to divulge information about the ship, since she knows that Michael is involved with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which was responsible for organizing the assault on America.
On the other hand, Max Peterson (Josh Charles) and Malik Amar (Dali Benssalah) also arrive at the manor after learning that Imogen and Adilah will be there. Adilah is attacked by Michael's driver, who had previously made fun of her, but Max steps in and shoots the guy.
Just as Max was about to communicate with Adilah, the driver shot him, knocking him down.
Imogen's disguise is also exposed when she threatens Michael with a knife and asks him to reveal the location of the ship. But Michael proves to be a tough nut to crack as he raises his pistol at her, but Amar intervenes and shoots him, rescuing Imogen.
She dashes off and finds Adilah waiting for her in the vehicle. As she gets into the vehicle, the two are just about to leave to meet Yasmina, who is just two hours away, when Adilah is fatally shot by the same driver. Imogen, furious, also murders the driver with great brutality.
Imogen Salter's search leads to her father Marcus Seabright in 'The Veil' Finale Episode
Imogen was left in a state of shock and grief when Adilah passed away. She blamed herself for breaking her word to reunite Adilah with Yasmina.
Simultaneously, she discovers the ship's name inscribed by Adilah on the car's windscreen. Once again, Imogen thanks Adilah, and the army attacks the ship the next day after seeing Emir (Alec Secareanu) attempting to detonate the bomb, only to be fatally shot by the soldiers.
Amar visits Imogen, who seems stunned, informing her that, at her request, Adilah's remains would be transported to Paris and interred next to her grandfather. He tells her that Max is in the hospital and is doing well, however, Imogen refuses to listen to Michael's well-being.
As Amar invites her to accompany him, she requests a moment and finds a letter addressed to Sebastian Illyra.
After seeing something strange, Imogen enters the woods in front of the manor and finds a home. Based on the ambiance and the items in the home, Imogen concludes that the house belongs to her father Marcus.
From there she deduces that Marcus never passed away—he was still alive and watching after Imogen—Imogen is dumbfounded and confronts her father, but neither he appears in front of her nor he responds.
When she discovers that her father is the real conspirator, she rushes out of his house and leaves with a satisfied smile on her face, indicating that she is now content that she has discovered the truth about her father.
