The third season of the fantasy drama series 'Sweet Tooth' is set to grace streaming platform Netflix on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Based on Jeff Lemire's book of the same name, the drama series is set in a post-apocalyptic future where various hybrids boasting animal body parts and other qualities emerge.

The final season of the show will dig deeper into the hybrids' origins, purpose, and what triggered their development

The second season of 'Sweet Tooth' thrusts Gus (Christian Convery) and his hybrid companions into a tornado of peril and hope.

In this gripping season, Gus and his companions were arrested by General Abbot (Neil Sandilands) and his Last Men militia. They are imprisoned and subjected to experimentation by Dr Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar).

In the end, Gus manages to defeat General Abbot, but he must grapple with the loss of Aimee Ede (Dania Ramirez), who, after fleeing the zoo, realizes she has caught the disease and ultimately dies.

What is the plot of 'Sweet Tooth' Season 3?

The last season of the beloved show will focus on Gus' mission to discover a cure for the sick, leading him and his companions on a treacherous journey northward to Alaska. The series will also follow Gus's search for his mother, Birdie (Amy Seimetz).

The final season will also provide insight into the hybrids' origins and could disclose who created them, why they have animal qualities, and their role in this new society.

Christian Convery, the young Canadian actor, will return to reprise his role as Gus in the fantasy drama series.

Born in 2009, Convery began his acting career at an early age, making his debut in 2016 with 'Hearts of Spring'. In 2019, he was honored with the Young Artist Award in the streaming series or film category.

Despite his young age, Convery has already garnered recognition for his talent and is making a name for himself in the entertainment industry.

His other acting credits include, 'Descendants 3,' 'Pup Academy,' 'Cocaine Bear' and 'One Piece' among others.

Nonso Anozie, who will reprise his role as Tommy Jepperd in the series, was born in North London in 1978.

The actor graduated from the elite Central School of Speech and Drama in 2002 and immediately began his career with appearances in theater productions. He notably portrayed the title role in William Shakespeare's 'King Lear'.

His breakthrough came in 2007 with a role in the action-adventure film 'The Last Legion.' Anozie's versatile acting chops demonstrate his ability to thrive across multiple genres, including historical epics, fantasy dramas, and comedic ventures.

His other acting credits include, 'Ender's Game,' '7 Days in Entebbe,' 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' and 'Ted Lasso,' among others.

The British actor Adeel Akhtar will also reprise his role as Dr Aditya Singh in the show.

Born in London on 18 September 1980, the actor studied law at Oxford Brookes University before following his passion for acting.

Akhtar underwent training at the Actors Studio Drama School in New York and began his acting career with roles in television shows and films such as 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' and 'Four Lions.'

His career took off in 2012 with a supporting role in the political satire 'The Dictator.'  Akhtar's performance as a damaged young man in the television series 'Murdered by My Father' earned him a BAFTA for Best Actor in 2017.
