'American Idol' Season 20 declares Noah Thompson as winner, fans say 'STAR QUALITY' missing

With Noah Thomspon being crowned the winner of 'American Idol' Season 20, fans felt it should have been HunterGirl

From being against the very idea of auditioning for 'American Idol' Season 20 to being crowned the winner, Kentucky native Noah Thompson certainly had a wild ride on the ABC's singing competition show. Despite receiving overwhelmingly negative feedback from the fans on social media and contracting Covid 19 mid-season, Noah overcame several obstacles to win 'American Idol'.

The desire to give his newborn son a better life, pushed the 19-year-old construction worker to push harder and continue trying to give his best during each of his performances in the competition. So when Noah was crowned the winner after receiving a majority of the audience's votes, fans had mixed feelings about it. While several fans were thrilled about his victory, others felt that the youngster shouldn't have made it to the finale let alone win it.

A fan pleased with Noah's win tweeted, "Noah Thompson did it! I picked him from the get go. I’m so happy for him. I loved all the top 3! #americanidol." "LETS GO!!! Many other fans felt that his fellow competitor HunterGirl should have won the season. A fan shared, "No offense to Noah at all but he just doesn’t have the STAR QUALITY she has! #AmericanIdol #Rigged." "Welp I called it today. Noah would win. How??? America votes. Out of the 3 tonight he should have been first to leave. Just comes to show what you get when America decides, and not the panel of judges. I know it has been this way, but oh well. Congrats to Noah. #AmericanIdol," shared a fan. "#AmericanIdol Okay I haven't watched in 10 + years, & I'm sure Noah is a nice guy, but that's the worst singer I ever saw win," observed a fan.
