'American Idol' Finale: Leah Marlene eliminated from Top 2, fans say 'f***ing dissapointments'

With her impeccable vocals and funky style, 20-year-old Leah Marlene slowly but steadily made her way into fans' hearts and became a strong frontrunner for winning 'American Idol' Season 20. Following the elimination of several other fan-favorite contestants like Fritz Hager, Nicolina Bozzo, Christian Guardino, etc, many fans began rooting for Leah to win just to break the winning streak of country singers on the ABC's singing competition show.

Despite the fans' strategy to vote for Leah to get the pop genre to win, sadly, the Normal, Illinois native failed to amass enough votes from the audience and ended up getting booted during the finale. While her fellow finalists- Noah Thompson and HunterGirl advanced to the Top 2 round and a chance to win the competition, Leah had to exit the competition. After hearing the show's host Ryan Seacrest announce Leah's elimination, understandably, 'American Idol' fans were in total shock and fury. Several angry fans took to Twitter to slam the show and its audience for voting out someone as talented as Leah.

"I just shut off my tv in disgust. The only reason why I was watching it was because the voice wasn’t on and I discovered wonderful Leah Marlene and now she’s voted off. Screw you American Idol. #AmericanIdol," shared a fan. "I’m sorry but Leah deserved to be in the final 2 #AmericanIdol," pointed out a fan. 

Many fans declared that the show's name should be changed to 'Country Idol' owing to the audience's obsession with country music and performers over other genres. A fan shared. "This show should change its name to Southern/Country Idol #AmericanIdol." "The show needs to be called American Country Singer #AmericanIdol," seconded a fan. This show should be named Country Idol #AmericanIdol," echoed another fan.
