'American Idol’: Noah Thompson deemed ‘next idol’, judges ask him to keep taking their advice

Noah Thompson showed up with his guitar and gravel in his voice during the top 24 performances of ‘American Idol’ season 20. The latest episode aired on Monday, April 11 saw the 19-year-old singer performing on ‘Blue Side Of The Mountain’ by The SteelDrivers quickly got the judges impressed. The skilled crooner also tried to open his eyes as much as possible after the mentor of the episode Bebe Rexha said that they would love to see more of his eyes.

Speaking of Noah's performance, Katy Perry stated he brought some of the country to the island referring to Hawaii where the top 24 performances of the show took place. Luke Bryan also spoke to the shy crooner saying, “This stuff's all new to you. Keep going forward, keep taking our advice, keep following your heart, and keep being the country boy that's standing right there." Luke concluded that Noah Thompson might win the entire competition. Lionel Richie, on the other hand, gave a valuable suggestion saying, “Don't let the shyness shut you down.”

‘He’s the next idol’

While the judges shared helpful suggestions with Noah, the social media users seemed completely smitten by his performance. “Voice in its completeness spicy, brilliance not brittle and the right amount of required texture GOOD”, said one user as another posted, “Loved the down home sound too your voice.” One user stated, “You can really see and hear the growth! Great Job!”

The next one tweeted, “Yessss baby! It’s that gravel in your voice for me for damn sure!” And, one added, “I’m team Noah Thompson all the way he’s the next idol I’m calling it right now.” Meanwhile, one posted, “Noah Thompson deserves to be in top 20. Great voice, humble. He’s the real deal.” And, another concluded, “Noah Thompson is so authentic, and has a great voice.
