KINGSTOWN, MICHIGAN: In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, there is a noticeable focus on Kyle McLusky (Taylor Handley) and Tracy (Nishi Munshi), allowing the narrative to explore their personal and professional lives in greater depth.

As the season unfolds, Tracy's character develops, revealing her motivations and connections to the other characters, potentially shaping the narrative in significant ways.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, Tracy makes her return to work following the birth of her baby, but her transition back into the workplace is met with a stark confrontation of the brutal realities faced by women prisoners in the system.

The way Tracy handled the situation suggests she is stepping into a role reminiscent of Mariam McLusky (Dianne Wiest) from previous seasons.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3 Episode 6, Tracy learns that a female inmate named Sheri 'Cherry' Maxwell (Natasha Marc) has given birth to a baby while incarcerated in the women's prison facility for three years.

This revelation prompts Tracy to wonder how Sheri could have become pregnant while incarcerated. The way Tracy shows care highlights how Mariam demonstrated compassion to inmates during her time in 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 2.

Tracy suspects that Sheri was raped inside the prison by the staff. Concerned by this troubling revelation, Tracy approaches the warden of the prison, and advocates for better support and resources for female inmates.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 1, Sheri killed a rookie guard in retaliation for killing a Crip member. At that time, the prison wanted Mariam to persuade Sheri to admit she hadn’t been sexually exploited by the prison guard she killed.

However, instead of simply complying with the prison's demands, Mariam took the time to genuinely listen to Sheri. Mariam's refusal to go along with the prison's bidding was a bold stand against a system that often prioritizes control over compassion.

In Season 3 Episode 6, Tracy exhibits similar traits in how she cares for Sheri, firmly expressing her stance to the warden that a guard raped Sheri during her time in prison. Tracy emphasizes that the guard is not a father but rather an assailant, underscoring the need for accountability and support for inmates.

It is still unclear who actually made Sheri pregnant - whether it was the guard she killed or someone else from the prison. However, it is certain that a crime has been committed against her, and Tracy is determined to do everything in her power to support Sheri.

Tracy could easily be seen as Mariam’s successor, particularly in her ability to speak truth to power. Much like Mariam, who was known for her unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights of inmates, Tracy demonstrates a similar strength and resolve.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 2, Mariam took significant risks to help Iris (Emma Laird), even when Iris's actions created potential threats, including a confrontation that brought chaos to her home.

By intervening in situations fraught with danger, she put herself at risk. The chaos ultimately killed her in 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 2 finale.

Unlike many characters who seek revenge, Mariam chose empathy instead. After being mugged by a young boy, she decided not to press charges when she found out the police had mistreated him. This decision highlighted her belief in compassion over punishment.

Tracy's caring attitude and bold personality clearly indicate that she is the next Mariam. Like Mariam, Tracy demonstrates a deep compassion for those around her, particularly for inmates facing harsh realities. She is not afraid to confront authority and speak out against injustices, echoing Mariam's fearless advocacy for the vulnerable.

The warden also revealed that Mariam made several attempts to change the status quo within the prison system.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, Sheri's return effectively sets up Tracy as Mariam’s successor. Both women recognize the injustices Cherry has faced, even as the prison system ignores her suffering.
