Internet concerned as 'Buying Beverly Hills' star Farrah Aldjufrie becomes latest victim of LA home burglaries
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When her daughter Farrah Aldjufrie's Los Angeles house was broken into in broad daylight on April 23, Kyle Richards hurried to her side. A police report was made when 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star and her oldest daughter were seen talking to LAPD officers in the driveway. Fans are perplexed as to how and why these famous people in Los Angeles are the targets of crimes like these.
TMZ reports that the heist occurred at about 1 pm, with the perpetrators breaking through a door to enter the house. The house's Wi-Fi was turned off at one time.
Designer handbags and jewelry were among the many high-end things that the criminals are said to have taken. At the time of the event, Farrah, a real estate agent with The Agency, was away from home.
No one has been taken into custody as of yet, and the police have not disclosed any information on the possible suspect or suspects who are still at large. Kyle said Farrah is "just fine" to TMZ, but he withheld any information on the inquiry.
On Reddit, fans wonder, "4 police cars to respond to a non active robbery of a rich “celebrity” but people who actually need help get no response when they call the cops in LA.
The rich really do live different lives than us peasants." Another person added, "No wonder Kim K pays a 24/7 security unit team to make sure no one robs her home (understandably so with what she went thru in Paris)."
One user wondered, "Has Farrah showed her home on the Netflix reality show? I don’t watch it but I imagine that’s how all these LA homes are targeted." A fourth person observed, "Everyone in LA with a nice home, or even not nice home, is being robbed. It's truly horrifying."
One user inquired, "Didn’t the mayor of LA get robbed in her home this weekend?"
Members of Bravo's popular series 'RHOBH' have been victims of several thefts in the past several years. This is only the most recent.
'RHOBH' stars Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's Encino home back in 2017
Around $1 million worth of jewels were taken from Kyle and her former husband Mauricio Umansky's Encino home back in December 2017.
At the time of the heist, the now-ex-couple was on vacation in Aspen, Colorado, with their children. The thief or thieves, who were never apprehended, fled with almost a million dollars worth of property, including Mauricio's $150,000 worth of watches and the diamond earrings he memorably gave Kyle for their 20th anniversary.
Along with other expensive family artifacts, a ring that belonged to Kyle's late mother Kathleen was also removed. At the time, TMZ was informed by a family-friendly source that the family thought the heist was an "inside job".
Additionally, the offenders did not raid the house and appeared to be aware of the location of the pricey objects. In 2020, Kyle was certain that the psychic in Santa Monica, whose hands Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton had shown on Instagram, was wearing her mother's ring.
However, Kyle has never found the ring, and her attempts to track down the mystery woman were unsuccessful.
'RHOBH' star Dorit Kemsley's Encino Hills home robbed in 2021
In October 2021, Dorit Kemsley, Kyle's co-star on 'RHOBH', too became a victim of a robbery. Three robbers stormed into the Encino Hills home of the reality TV actress while she and her children, Phoenix and Jagger, who were five and seven years old at the time, were inside. The burglars held the celebrity at gunpoint.
Her English husband Paul 'PK' Kemsley was still in the UK, and Dorit had just returned from a family wedding in London. Due to this, she was home alone with her daughter and son when the intruders broke through the children's school door.
Dorit's close friends and family members informed DailyMail.com that the guys had broken into her opulent Encino Hills house and threatened to kill her.
The criminals did manage to escape with jewelry and purses, Dorit and her kids were left unharmed. Public images of the masked thieves were made available, but the perpetrators have not yet been apprehended.
Fourteen months later, three guys followed Dorit around a supermarket and took her purse from her shopping cart, robbing her of $10,000 in cash. She disclosed that the crime happened following her $10,000 bank withdrawal for Christmas shopping.
She admitted to 'RHOBH' viewers in 2023 that she was unaware her handbag had been taken until she got to the cash register.
'RHOBH' star Crystal Kung Minkoff's gated Los Angeles house broken into
More recently, while on a spring break vacation in Japan with her family, 'RHOBH' star Crystal Kung Minkoff had her gated Los Angeles house broken into. The trespassers entered the house, she informed the audience, and they soon found themselves "face-to-face with my friend, and they ran away."
She acknowledged that the house was not "properly" guarded at the time of the break-in and said that the burglars entered her property by jumping over the gates on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live show. Crystal stated that the circumstance was another prompt to "step up" in terms of the security of her house.
Crystal has "heavy duty" gates installed in addition to other security measures after the event.
