Mama June slammed as she 'begs' for money to buy Christmas gifts after daughter Anna Cardwell's death
MILLEDGEVILLE, GEORGIA: Tragedy struck Mama June Shannon's family as her oldest daughter, Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell, lost her 10-month battle with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.
Following Anna's death, temporary custody of Kaitlyn Elizabeth was granted to June.
In the aftermath, June has shared glimpses of her life with Kaitlyn on social media, often seeking financial support from her followers.
Recently, she posted a video of a Christmas shopping spree with Kaitlyn, buying Barbie dolls, cars, Pokemon items, and various toys for her granddaughters Kaitlyn and Kylee Madison.
However, some social media users criticized June, alleging that she spent less on Anna's daughters despite having asked for financial assistance from her fans.
The situation prompted discussion and concern among followers about the allocation of funds in the aftermath of Anna's tragic death.
A Reddit user shared a screenshot from June's TikTok video and wrote in the thread, "You begged for $$ for gifts for the girls! You spent maybe $20.00 each on the rest of your grandchildren but thousands on yourself 🤢."
Another person added, "More $ spent on her nails and eyelashes then on anyone else this Christmas season. It’s not about the money but it’s sad she only bought one gift for each child but taking the other to Disney give me a break."
Another critic noted, "I don’t understand why people donate to these people. She just waste money and didn’t she lose her house in Georgia because she didn’t pay the mortgage."
Another follower said, "How is she asking for money when the girls Amazon wishlists were cleared? I don’t get this shit. Those girls are just a money train for her."
Another social media user commented, "Where’d all the money go from the other parts of her family? Pumpkin and Alana should’ve given them a little cash if I remember correctly…."
Mama June receives backlash for making 'sympathy' money from Anna Cardwell's death
Mama June Shannon has been asking her followers for gifts and donations to Anna Cardwell's daughters, Kylee and Kaitlyn. She has also created an Amazon Wishlist which had more adult items than for young girls.
However, June noted in a TikTok video that 'nothing will bring back their mother' and encouraged fans to send gifts/cards to P.O. Box 631, Gordon, GA 31031.
Additionally, June filmed Anna's eldest daughter, Kaitlyn to the point that fans felt she should leave the young girl alone. She has also started a Cameo account where she charged $30 for a video ahead of the Christmas holidays.
As June continued to ask for money on different platforms, social media users have accused the reality star of crediting her daughter Anna's death into cash.
A critic wrote in a Reddit thread, How bc they r disgusting and need to be held accountable like everyone else I get Anna died and I get the girls might need stuff but NO THEY DO NOT MEED ALL THAT MONEY clearly if they have enough family to make a football team they have a enough family to financially help with the girls alittle but."
Another person added, "Anna’s death rather profitable to this bunch of emotional-bricks." Another follower said, "She is trying to profit off the death of her daughter that whole family is pure white trash."
Another Reddit user penned, "They even cashing in on money...the verydayofAnnas passing this is not right." Another internet user noted, "Her daughter passed and all she saw was $$$ signs. Pathetic
Another social media user commented, "She’s been living it up since her oldest daughter died."
Uncle Poodle claims Mama June wants Kaitlyn custody for 'personal gain'
Mama June's ex-brother-in-law Lee 'Uncle Poodle' Thompson recently claimed that Mama June Shannon has filed for the custody of her granddaughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth for 'personal gain.'
June took legal steps for the permanent custody of Kaitlyn, 11, just a day after Anna Cardwell's ex-husband, Michael Cardwell, sued the reality star over custody of Kaitlyn.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with The Sun, Lee reflected on June's intentions.
He shared with the outlet, "I've seen the videos June has posted asking if fans want to send gifts to the girls, and some fans have lashed out at her." He added, "I'm sure Anna wanted Michael to have the kids."
Although Michael was not Kaitlyn's biological father, he actively raised Anna's eldest daughter. However, June's ex Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson's brother Lee, said, "Michael is the best person to have the two girls."
He added, "I know Michael, he’s a good guy, and that’s where the kids need to be."
