'DWTS': Spice Girl Mel C opens Season 30 with cha-cha performance set to 'Wannabe'

Mel C and her partner Gleb Savchenko wowed audiences and received mostly positive reviews, but we can't say the same about Tyra Banks' outfit

With Season 30 of 'Dancing With The Stars' finally here, fans are excited to see who comes out on top during week one. The first performances often set a tone for the competition and work as a great indicator of what is to come.

Kicking off Season 30 is none of than Melanie C of the Spice Girls, dancing the Cha Cha to 'Wannabe' by Spice Girls, along with her partner Gleb Savchenko. Here' show the duo performed so far

The couple started relatively strong, receiving generally positive feedback from all the judges. Len Goodman was all praises for her. Derek Hough enjoyed her performance, too, stating that she could point her feet more. Bruno Tonioli too was impressed; however, he did point out that some pronounced hip action would have been great. Carrie Ann Inaba was excited to see her favorite Spice Girl and stated that she could loosen up a bit. They scored decently for their first time on the stage, with Len scoring them 7, Bruno also gave them 7, Derek gave them 6 and Carrie Ann scoring them 7, putting them at a grand total of 27.

As excited as the judges were to see Mel C on the stage, fans were as well. One thing was for sure, seeing that the Spice Girls made their debut 25 years ago, everyone, including the judges, couldn't get over how great Mel C looked.

"Mel C aka Sport Spice has the BEST arms I have ever seen. I need her lifting plan. #DWTS" tweeted a fan. "This still hangs on my wall. Way to go Sporty Spice, Mel C #DWTS" added another.

"#DWTS #DWTS30 MelC #melaniec holy shit,  @tyrabanks dress is horrific. Can't get past the spots it's reflecting on her face!" tweeted another, throwing a bit of shade at Tyra's outfit while they were at it. "Mel C. & Gleb, this dynamic could be interesting #DWTS" pointed out another. 

"Mel C and Gleb Cha Cha Cha Not too bad for a week 1 cha cha. I agree that it was clean, but also agree that from this week forward she's gotta work on straight lines and balancing each move, and it's me, but the choreo could've worked better with the song's tempo #DWTS30 #DWTS," tweeted another.
