Savchenko enjoys being a single dad

Savchenko was married to professional dancer, Elena Samodanova, and they have two daughters together. However, the pair split in 2020, after being married for 14 years. Samodanova implied that Savchenko was involved with his Season 29 co-star, Chrishell Stause. However, he cleared the air regarding the same, as reported by US Weekly

"My relationship with Chrishell was and remains strictly platonic. Our friendship during our season on DWTS was not the reason for our split. Elena and I have had longstanding issues in our marriage. This has been an ongoing situation between Elena and I paired with poor timing." The two seem to have now looked past their differences for the sake of their daughters. In a conversation with ET, he opened up about how the former couple now co-parent together.

"It's everything. Starting from waking up in the morning, to doing their hair, making breakfast, taking them to school, doing activities ... just being a dad, it's an amazing thing," he said. "It's funny because when we were together, with Elena, I didn't have that much time with them. Because either I was on tour, or on the season, and we had a full-time nanny." he added "Now we go strictly five and five. It's 50/50, so on my days, it's like 100 percent me being a single dad with two girls. It's an amazing TV show idea, by the way! Hot single dad with kids? Game over!" he suggested.

But TV shows aside, he's happy to be able to spend quality time with his girls. "There's such a bond that we have. It's just kind of something that I've realized being with them," he added. "I love them to death, but when you're working, when you're busy, when you're not there, when you're not present as much as you want to. Now I'm present all the time and that's like an amazing gift of life," he added.
