SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Abi Carter recently delivered an electrifying performance that scared Katy Perry for her job. The platinum ticket winner performed Fall Out Boy's song, 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark,' and nailed it.

After Abi's fiery performance, Katy asked, "Where has all this energy been? Where has all the physicality been? If you had done that the whole time on Idol… Why were you saving that to the next to last show?" Katy added, "I am scared for my job." She further noted, "Your performance made me scared for my job."

Katy also urged viewers to vote for the talented singer and secure her a spot in the Top 5. Meanwhile, Luke Bryan praised Abi's performance as 'amazing'. Viewers were equally impressed with Abi's latest performance and claimed she could win the ABC show.

A social media user wrote, "Abi is on a whole other level compared to the other contestants…she IS the winner." Another person added, "Wow, That was an amazing performance by abi carter, She sounded incredible tonight, And this is one of my favorite performances of the night this week during the top 7 this week."

Another fan said, "Abi’s voice is on another level tbh." One critic said, "Abi Carter always comes with totally invested emotion, touching vocal inflections, great dynamics. So sweet and simple on the piano. She creates so many gorgeous moments. A well-rounded offering. Loved it!"  One fan said, "Ok, listen. 'American Idol' Season 22 singer Abi Carter delivered another stunning performance during her second appearance of the night. Seated at the piano, she mesmerized the audience with her rendition of Adele's hit song, 'Hello'. 

After the performance, Lionel Richie said, "It's the best I've ever heard you." He added, "Soulful... delicate... personal. That was amazing." Meanwhile, Katy Perry called Abi's performance 'angelic frequency.' Luke Bryan noted, "I think you made Lionel Richie forget he wrote the original 'Hello.'" He also quipped that Abi crushed the latest 'Hello', adding, "It was tremendous."

Abi Carter faces microphone pack mishap

'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Abi Carter encountered an onstage mishap when her microphone pack fell off during her performance. However, she gracefully managed the situation, impressing both the audience and the judges. Luke Bryan commended her professionalism, stating, "You handled it like a pro."

He noted that he often gets help from the people on stage but Abi amazingly took the pack from stage and tuck it on her back. Additionally, Abi notably advanced to the Top 5.
