'59th ACM Awards 2024': Internet demands to see Reba McEntire the 'whole time' when she returns to host in 2025

FRISCO, TEXAS: Reba McEntire delivered a fiery rendition of her new single "I Can't" during her final performance of the night at the 2024 ACM Awards on Thursday, May 16, quite literally bringing the house down. Beyond her performance, her announcement that she would be hosting the event again next year certainly delighted the audience.

The 69-year-old singer, who also served as the evening's host, was joined by a magnificent chorus of gospel singers as she passionately sang the words to her most recent song, locking eyes with the camera. Her fiery red hair perfectly complemented the curtain of pyrotechnic flames that suddenly burst into life behind her.

Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, and other celebrities at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas, rose to their feet in a standing ovation. The iconic country singer also declared her intention to return as the 2025 ACMs host as she left the stage.

Following her performance, fans took to X to note, "Reba is saving this let’s be honest." One impressed fan wrote, "Also #Reba announcing she will be hosting next year #ACMawards at the end!"

Another fan wrote, "REBA IS HOSTING NEXT YEAR TO!! DAMN STRAIGHT!!!" One fan demanded, "If she’s hosting next year. I EXCEPT TO SEE HER THE WHOLE TIME, EVERY SECOND!!! Forget the outfit change!"

Another fan wrote, "Not me screaming when she said she's hosting next year. I'm going." Calling it a treat, one fan noted, "Also, did I hear right? Reba decided she wanted to partake in the ACMs celebrations once more after witnessing her friends and fellow country superstars, Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks, co-host the program and lead the festivities during last year's ACM Awards.

Before the show, she told Billboard, "I was really anxious to get back on the stage. Going back to Texas is always good for me — because that’s close to home, southeastern Oklahoma."

Reba is well-versed in the preparation required for hosting, having presided over the 16 ACM Awards in Las Vegas and several Californian cities. This includes collaborating with dependable writers to craft and polish the evening's dialogue and managing numerous costume changes.

Reba has hosted the ACM Awards more than a dozen times, both solo and in tandem with performers including George Strait, Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson, and John Schneider. However, she does have a few individuals on her bucket list whom she would like to co-host with, including her partner Rex Linn.

With her partner, Rex, at her side, Reba was getting ready to host the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday, May 16. Ahead of the 59th annual awards ceremony in Texas, the singer and the actor strolled the red carpet together.

Reba looked stunning in a turquoise necklace and black jumpsuit with a sequin jacket. Her signature red locks were styled in a half-up, half-down look. Rex wore a leather jacket, matching shirt, and black pants.
