'59th ACM Awards 2024': Miranda Lambert shades ex-Blake Shelton with 'Wrangler' at the music awards
FRISCO, TEXAS: Miranda Lambert made a surprising fashion choice, opting for double denim instead of a tight black dress to perform her new single "Wranglers" at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday, May 16. Surprisingly, both her ex and current partners in the audience enthusiastically appreciated the song about previous loves!
Earlier on the red carpet, Miranda Lambert acknowledged that "Wranglers" was inspired by her past loves and losses. She attended the award ceremony with her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, while her ex-partner, Blake Shelton, was accompanied by his wife, Gwen Stefani.
"We were talking girl talk over tequila one day, writing songs, and we were talking about our past and things we’ve been through, guys we dated... not so good ones," Miranda stated before the ACM Awards. The song was finally completed one month later.
"You can kind of decipher what we discussed on that day," Miranda joked. When questioned if she truly tried to burn a pair of Wrangler trousers, Miranda said, "How do you think I know how well made they are? Very well made. Good on y'all, Wranglers."
