Warning: Contains speculations for 'Emily in Paris' Season 4

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The stage is all set to welcome Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) back to our screens as the first part of the fourth season of 'Emily in Paris', will air on Thursday, August 15. As much as the enthusiasm for the show is high, there is a dire need to examine why the series has to end since its narrative has become tedious with formulaic plotlines.

The drama, which had the primary plot of an American girl, Emily, attempting to adapt to the culture of Paris, had captured the hearts of viewers because of the extravagant clothes and heartbreaking romance. However, with three seasons now completed, the show is not trying to evolve and is relying on hackneyed tropes, making it dull and monotonous.

Why 'Emily in Paris' must end with Season 4?

I mean, it's obvious that the upcoming season of 'Emily in Paris' will also focus on the stereotypical love triangle, which, if not resolved, may go on for another three or four seasons. Yes, Emily finds herself in a love triangle which was initially fascinating, but its repetition has become monotonous for viewers.

Similarly, the new-girl-in-town narrative, where Emily struggles to adjust to the Parisian culture while keeping her American identity, was endearing and sympathetic in the early seasons.

However, after a few seasons, Emily's cultural faux pas and outsider status begin to wear thin. If the show continues to depend on these formulaic elements without attempting to evolve, it should stop after Season 4, since it is much better to say goodbye while you are at your best than when no one cares.

If the creators decide to end the show after Season 4, several loose ends must be tied to give 'Emily in Paris' a fitting finale. The season finale should see Emily make a decisive decision regarding her future. Emily might probably be given a dream position that forces her to choose between remaining in Paris and returning to the United States.

Furthermore, the love triangle has to be resolved as quickly as possible. The story should end with Emily making a definite decision in her love life. It should be evident whether she chooses Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) or Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) or, in a twisting turn of events, she chooses none but herself.

Also, fans would like to see Mindy Chen (Ashley Park) achieve her well-deserved success and become the musician she aspired to be, and Sylvie's (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) character arc should end with her finally reconciling with Laurent G. (Arnaud Binard) while juggling her personal and professional lives seamlessly.
