PARIS, FRANCE: The glitz and glamor of Paris, are about to return to our screens as 'Emily in Paris' Season 4 Part 1 is set to make its debut on Netflix on August 15, 2024.

The narrative is as simple as a straight line where Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) unexpectedly finds a job at Savoir, a marketing firm in Paris, and so she embarks on an life-changing adventure filled with love, humor and challanges.

However, things did not go as well as Emily had hoped, as she had to acclimatise to her demanding employer, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).

Sylvie, who is visibly confident and has a go-getter attitude, has a very murky personal life, which frequently leaves fans bewildered.

Why Sylvie's marriage with Laurent G is puzzling in 'Emily in Paris'?

It was revelaed in Season 2 of the show that, Sylvie and Laurent G (Arnaud Binard) are separated despite having been married for more than twenty years.

In Season 3, Sylvie and Laurent attempt to restore their relationship with him promising to assist Sylvie with her company paperwork.

However, it was also shown that their connection is more distant than anticipated.

As they become closer, Laurent's desire to start a nightclub in Paris and collaborate with Louis De Leon (Pierre Deny), is something that can cause more ripples in their relationship.

It turns out that Louis is Sylvie's former boss and a crucial character from her turbulent past with JVMA.

Now, you've been married for 20 years but are still uninformed of your spouse's foes, which is both unexpected and surprising.

Laurent's ignorance of Sylvie's past with JVMA and Louis indicates a fundamental rift in their relationship, emphasizing how little he understands about Sylvie's personal and professional life despite their lengthy marriage.

Will Sylvie and Laurent G's relationship withstand the test of time in 'Emily in Paris'?

The future of Sylvie and Laurent's marriage is questionable, as Laurent's new business venture with JVMA may disrupt their relationship.

However, assuming that they would eventually divorce is a very farfetched assumption, since even after being married for more than two decades, the couple generally avoids discussing their separation.

For instance, in Season 2, Sylvie called Laurent to Paris to transfer her ownership of the beach club shares, allowing her to use the funds to start her own marketing company and when the topic of divorce comes up, they feel they've completed enough paperwork for the day, thus avoiding the situation.

Furthermore, in order to avoid conflict and repair her relationship with Laurent, Sylvie may withhold her concerns from JVMA, but Laurent will most likely discover the truth.

This discovery may jeopardise their reunion, but I believe that if they emerge victorious from this hard situation, they have a very limited possibility of being sperated thereafter.

Overall, as things get more serious between the separated couple, it will be interesting to watch how things go in Season 4 of the show.
