Who is JYPn? JYPE reveals all 7 members of new girl group NMIXX after blind pre-order
With more than 100 K-pop groups debuting each year, it is quite difficult to stand out, which is why labels try all kinds of tactics to ensure the debut of their latest group is successful. This also goes for the Big 3 (JYPE, SM and YG) as we have JYPE going to bizarre lengths to create buzz about their latest girl group JYPn aka NMIXX. And it seems to be working. Back in July, they released a mysterious poster titled ‘Blind Package’ with dates for a pre-order that couldn’t be bought after the pre-order period ended. They then revealed that the pre-orders were for their upcoming girl group’s debut album.
Netizens found it odd that people would blindly invest and buy albums from a group that had not yet been revealed. However, with JYPE being known for forming iconic groups like GOT7, TWICE, Stray Kids and Itzy, K-pop stans have quite a lot of faith in the label. Within five days, ‘Blind Package’ had 40k pre-orders and in 10 days it reached 61k pre-orders. To show their appreciation, JYPE has started revealing the members of the girl group. Previously known as JYPn, their new name is NMIXX and the group has seven members set to debut in February. Well, here’s everything that we know about them.

7 members of JYPn aka NMIXX revealed
The group is set to debut in February 2022. JYPE has been gradually revealing the members of JYPn aka NMIXX by getting the girls to drop dance and song covers to showcase their potential to the public. We first had three members dancing to Cardi B’s ‘Press’, choreographed by global choreographers Samantha Long and Eom Taewoong. The next member dropped a dance cover of Sunmi’s ‘Full Moon’. The fifth member dropped a song cover of Dua Lipa’s ‘Break My Heart’ while the most recent member to be revealed did a song cover of Bruno Mars' 'Finesse’.
Jinni
She was one of the first members to be revealed. Along with her, Jiwoo and Kyujin dropped the cover of Cardi B’s ‘Press’ and Major Lazer’s ‘Que Calor’. Jinni has been training with JYPE since 2016 and even was in 2PM Nichkhun’s music video of ‘Lucky Charm’. She also showed off her singing with a cover of Ella Eyre’s ‘Mama’.
Jiwoo
Many think that she might be the main dancer of the group since she was singled out for her dancing skills at the JYP Trainee Showcase in 2018. She did a modern dance cover to Bishop Brigg’s ‘White Flag’ choreographed by Kiki-Sohsooji along with Kyujin. Jiwoo also showed off her singing by doing a cover of Bebe Rexha’s ‘Me, Myself & I’.
Kyujin
With Kyujin being part of the two group dance covers, many think that she is a part of the dance line with Jinni and Jiwoo. Kyujin was also a student at Withbill Dance Academy. She is also currently the youngest member having been born in May 2006. She also did a cover of Camila Cabellos’ ‘My Oh My’.
Sullyoon
She was introduced with a dance cover of Sunmi’s ‘Full Moon’. Sullyooon is currently the oldest member having been born in January 2004. She was previously a trainee under Woollim and was supposed to debut with Rocket Punch. She can also speak Spanish and English as she studied in NYC. She knows ballet and took modern dance classes. According to Kprofiles, her favorite idol is Sunmi.
BAE
BAE aka Bae Jinsol was street cast by JYPE outside her school and is said to be the vocalist of the group. She also happens to be a classmate of aespa’s Winter. BAE first appeared to the public during the JYP Trainee Homecoming Showcase in 2019. She was introduced with a song cover of Dua Lipa’s ‘Break My Heart’ and then later did a live duet with Sullyoon.
Haewon
Haewon is the latest member to be revealed. She dropped a song cover of Stephanie Poetri’s ‘I Love You 3000’ and 'Survivor' with Lily M. But fans that attended the JYP Trainee Showcase said that she is also a good dancer.
Lily M
Fans believed that the seventh member would be Lily M. Those that attended JYP's trainee showcase saw her dueting with Haewon. She is a Korean-Australian singer who ranked #4 on the survival show ‘K-pop Star’ and signed with JYPE in 2015. She also released an OST for the drama ‘Orange Marmalade’ in the same year. After a couple of weeks of revealing the first six members, it was indeed announced that the seventh and last member to join the group would be Lily M. She introduced herself by dropping covers of 'Finesse' and 'Roar'.
According to JYPE, NMIXX's concept is 7-7-7 which means they're all aces and so don't have any positions as there are seven vocalists, dancers and visuals. As for their name, "NMIXX' is a compound word of the letter 'N', which means now, new, next, and unknown, and the word 'MIX', which symbolizes combination and diversity. JYP explained that it has the meaning of 'the best combination to take responsibility for a new era'."
