SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: HyunA and DAWN are no longer together after six years of dating and getting engaged. The former 4Minute member announced on Instagram, "We broke up. We've decided to be good friends and coworkers. Thank you all for being supportive of our relationship."

The duo were among the few K-pop couples to date publicly, after they revealed they were together in August 2018. The couple started dating in May 2016, and after five years of dating, the couple announced their engagement in February. HyunA and DAWN, who are both members of PSY's label P NATION, released their first and only duet album in September 2021, titled '1+1=1'.

News of Hyuna and Dawn's split is sending fans into a Twitter rage as they find it hard to believe their favorite K-pop couple has broken up. Hyuna, the reigning K-pop queen, and Dawn, a solo artist, are regarded as the most daring K-pop couple since they were willing to leave their previous employer to support one another and put love above all else.

Twitter users took to the platform to express their grief for the K-pop couple, as it was hard for fans to believe it. A person tweeted, "Hyuna and dawn breaking up after 5 years relationship and they even got engaged, quit their former label because they weren't allowed to date and fought for their love, has to be the last straw. am I supposed to believe in love?" Another user wrote, "HYUNA AND DAWN BREAKING UP IS BREAKING MY RELATIONSHIP UP!!! I NO LONGER BELIEVE IN ROMANCE THIS IS BULLS**T" Another user wrote, "I never even imagine in my life ever that i would hear news about hyuna dawn breaking up." On October 15, 2018, CUBE Entertainment ended its agreement with HyunA, and on November 14, 2018, it did the same with DAWN. Shortly after, the couple joined PSY's agency, P NATION, and continued to be a solid unit. Following their joining P NATION, they produced several incredible hits.
