Hyunjin's cover of Post Malone's 'Motley Crew' has become the fastest AOTM video to cross 10 million views

When it comes to high-quality performance videos, Studio Choom is the perfect platform. They made a name for themselves in the content creation area by producing 4K videos for K-pop artists’ performances. Their attention to detail, movement and lighting was quite novel as previously the only way to see an artist’s performance was through a single performance video from the label themselves or an average music show that fans claimed did not do justice to the dance. So it is no wonder that fans showed their appreciation by getting Hyunjin’s AOTM to 10 million views.

AOTM aka ‘Artist of the Month’ is Studio Choom’s popular series in which a K-pop idol is selected for a mini-documentary and an original performance to a song of the idol’s choice. It began in 2020 with IZ*ONE’s main dancer Chaeyeon being the first AOTM. TVXQ’s Yunho was the first male idol to join the series while Ateez’s Wooyoung was the first fourth-gen male idol. While the current idol for November is Itzy’s Ryujin, the one before her was none other than her labelmate Hyunjin. The Stray Kids star was selected for the month of October as he did a dance cover of Post Malone’s ‘Motley Crew’.

Stray Kids Hyunjin’s AOTM reaches 10 million views

Stray Kids' Hyunjin channelled his inner mafia as he dressed up in a darkcore outfit and was covered in tattoos for the performance of ‘Motley Crew’. His fierce expression and sharp moves had Stays (Stray Kids’ fandom) going in a frenzy. They ended up getting the AOTM video to 2.9 million YouTube views in the first 24 hours itself making it the most-watched debut in the series. With the performance crossing 3.8 million a day later, fans knew that it was going to break a record. And soon enough, on November 6, it has become the fastest AOTM video to cross 10 million views. It reached this achievement within 20 days and 12 hours of its release.

Fans trended #AOTM_Hyunjin as they hyped up the achievement. One Stay tweeted, “He’s very sexy for this actually.” Another shared, “Congratulations to my hardest hardworking, kind, talented and handsome performance leader in the world!! Hwang Hyunjin is the best!!! HYUNJIN PERFORMANCE LEADER.” One commented, “Hyunjin really took his comeback very seriously. These milestones were achieved in less than 4 months. King behaviour.” Another simply said, “He's a legend.” “We really went from this to this in 4 months!! HYUNJIN PERFORMANCE LEADER,” posted one fan. A talented Stay even made fanart, “Hyunjin world domination I think.”
